I chose almost never because I don't have an older game to fall back to at the moment. I only own one game and zero systems so I'm not doing a lot of game playing at the moment.

I'm currently playing the first metal gears solid on my newly bought ps3. (and i actually like that one, unlike the rest)
Also, i still play a few mp rounds of conker:live&reloaded or timesplitters against bots.

I love playing my old games. Im currently playing LAN games with my brothers on the origional C&C, Total Annihalation and Dungeon Keeper 2. Its way more fun than a lot off the multiplayer games released recently. Also playing AvP2 because the new AvP made me miss being a facehugger. I still find a lot of the older games are the best

I tend to play older games quite a lot, what I like to do is play a newer game then will wait a couple of days and then play a older title. In fact, last weekend at my parents I played Batman: AA and then I played Banjo - Kazooie. Nothing beats the nostalgia rush that I get when I play Banjo or Legend of zelda: a link to the past.

Does Counter Strike source count as an old game? If so, I play that everyday, and Tetris at work.

Dude, where've you been? I've been looking for you all morning today cuz I wanted to vote your avatar as my favourite avatar in some svatar thread, cuz you made it yourself and it's not ripped off of anything from the internet. Grrrr, I will put more effort into remembering your name now.

Well I have Heroes of Might and Magic 3 installed on my laptop at the moment. And that was made in 1999. I often take a break from my Xbox'ing to play it.

The difficulty curve is as much Mt. Everest now as it was back then.

I hang on to all my old games. I'm still replaying FF VII, VIII and IX, and I recently finished Tomb Raider II.

I don't have rose tinted glasses about them, I know they have problems, but I just enjoy replaying the games I loved when I was younger.

Every 2 months or so i stop my new game progress. I look to my cupboard and pick out the same game for the PS1... tony hawks pro skater 2, you have no idea how much I love that game. I have finished it countless times and can draw out all the the maps blond fold unfortunately, I'm in no way sad at all... Modern games have nothing on this classic gem!

I have phases. I was in a Fallout 3 phase for about 9 months before I got Dragon Age, and now that's all I play. I buy new games but I can only concentrate on one at a time, and I'm such a completionist (totally a word!) I have to play the shit out of the one I'm focusing on. I have Arkham Asylum and Mass Effect 2 sitting around waiting for me, but until I finish all 6 of Dragon Age's origin stories and Awakenings comes out I won't get to them. If I want a break I'll play Fallout 3, ME1, Portal, or Fable 2, but I won't crack the package on a new game until I've finished my current game.

Ha! This post makes me sound like such a freak - OCD much?

If by "older", you mean "Star Wars Battlefront 1&2", then I go back to older games constantly.
