I play games because they help me to unwind. To escapse, I suppose.

Also, alot of RPG's have great stories.

I'm 16 tomorrow, and I play games because when a game draws you in with its role playing, you feel like you are the character and want to find out what happens to him/her.
Also, games such as bioshock and rainbow six vegas 2 (terrorist hunt) have given me some of the tensest and most fun moments of my life.

I'm 28 years old, and I have no idea why I'm still playing games or why I ever started, but I have no intention of stopping so long as my eyes work (and even then, I've got some options).

And I like to kill things, lots of things. I just wish I could in real life and get away with it. What i'd give to have the world become over-run with monsters and be a Mercenary with a huge 2 handed axe, slaying them for money which I can spend on wenches.

I'm 20.
I play games because, well, it's dependant on the game that I'm playing.
The chief motivations for most games are in reading/watching a good story, being able to interact with a virtual environment in ways that let me solve problems in novel methods (both puzzles and tactical games,) participating in an entertaining session with friends, and feeling a sense of achievement.

I have different reasons for playing different types of games.

1. I play a First Person Shooter when I am angry or tense, and need to blow off some steam.
2. I play RPGs because I love good stories, and most RPGs have great stories to enjoy.

so, to sum it up for a poll...

I play games to unwind and relax.

You play for the same reasons as me. I also like enacting my violent fantasies in games. It stops me from doing it in real life.
Oh and i'm 19
