I have 2 xbox 360s. One is a launch xbox 360 and one is the xbox 360 elite console.

Surprisingly enough, my launch xbox has never died on me (although I did have to get a new power supply for it), whereas my elite has died 3 times (2 red ring and a videocard failure).

Considering the fact that when the elite came out Microsoft promised that all the problems from launch were fixed, I was pretty pissed when it had more problems than my launch unit.

So yeah, my launch xbox 360 is over 5 years old with nary a problem. Guess I was one of the lucky ones.

Being a PS3 owner, I think I actually need to have negative integers in order to answer this poll properly. Cause I've like...never had an X-Box and I instead have their rival. Yeah.

Mine is 3 years old today. It's the 2008 model. Mine hasn't actually broken once, and hopefully won't for a while (touch wood).

I got my first Xbox 360 in mid-2008 and had it since. Had to send it off to MS once for E74 and they repaired it and sent it back (I think). I then had to send if off again for a broken disc tray (wouldn't read discs properly) and the replaced it. It's the pro model, the one that came with the 20GB HDD. Typically, the pro model with the 60GB HDD came out about 2 months later.

Xbox 360 is the only console I didn't buy this generation as three of my friends who own them all had complications with theirs. My one buddy is on his 4th, the other on their 3rd, and the other on their 2nd.

I ended up getting a PS3 as a result..and it broke down after 3 years. The wii has been consistent though...Nintendo has never failed me.

Given that I have no faith in Microsoft console quality, I doubt I'll ever own one of their consoles. Perhaps that'll change if xbox720 lasts my friends 3+ years without a single incident.

I had a 5 year old one but it broke (and lasted pretty damn long too, even survived RRoD. The CD drive is kaput too now). Now I have a slim thats only a few months old and its so nice to have an xbox that isn't louder than a vacuum cleaner.

I've had an Xbox 360 Pro for about 2-2 and a half years now.

It hasn't broken!(...yet?)

I've had my elite for nearly 2 years now, but before i got that i went through 1 pro, and 3 core machines. All of them RROD'd. it was not a pleasant experience

I had a Xenon got it back in 2006, it was a real piece of crap always had disk read issues and would often crash for no reason. When the bastard RROD'ed on me I decided to get a slim.
Now I have a shiny new slim it's way better.
I bought the 4 gig model and fitted my 120 GB HDD from my old xbox into it :)

I had mine for 2 years which was bought in 2007. It didn't die but that's probably because I played it all of 5 times (literally). I just find it strange how it's the norm for a console to break down and people will still put up with another one. Is Xbox Live really that good?

I have a 2008 model, but I bought it second hand. It's my first one. I've had it a year now and it's still going strong.

Had my xbox for about two years now. Only two issues with it, one being it got the red ring of death once it connected to xbox live. The next is after living though so many hack attemps, its breaking down.

Thankfully i just got one of the new xboxs to replace it.

I have the 6 year old one and it is still going strong! Although I'm considering getting one of the fancy new sleek and black ones because I'm tired at how obnoxiously loud the fan is on the one I have and I want an HDMI port.

Got my elite roughly 4 years ago, has yet to have any sort of problem, other than a couple crashes, but those were both in Fallout games, so I just cannot blame that on the Xbox.

Got one in 2007, and sold it about 3 months ago when I upgraded to the 250 gb Slim + Kinect. Still worked perfectly fine, never had an issue at all in 4.5 years.

My current one is one and a half years old, an arcade model, using a 120GB hard disk I already had. Before that I had a launch console, it got 3 red lights twice, the first time it was still in the 3 year warrenty so it got repaired for free. The second time I wasn't so lucky, warrenty had ran out so I had to buy the new one.

My original one lasted a year and a half then red ringed then i bought an elite.Since then never had a reason to get rid of it runs so well .
Why all the buying a new one upon red ring? I've fixed mine from 2 of it's red ring tantrums so far aswell as other issues. God I wish I had the disposable income of some of you :p
Well, I did actually contemplate fixing it myself, infact I still could as I still have it in storage. But considering it was around 4 years old at the time. I figured that it could easily just happen again, or something even worse happening, since it was on it's last legs. Buying a new one(Arcade model) was the same price as what Microsoft were asking for it to be repaired. So I figured I'd rather just buy a newer model, and hope that those rrod problems have been fixed. So I don't have to keep messing around opening it up.
