Poll: How smart do you think you are?

Hey, guys and girls. I recently read an article saying that a very large majority of people think they have above average intelligence. Obviously, it's impossible for everyone to be above average, and it seems people aren't as smart as they like to think they are.

I wanted to test this and ask you guys. How smart do you think you are? You can be as modest or arrogant as you like. Honestly, I think I'm above average, if only because I'm around the top percentile in my class.

Then again, The Escapist might be a breeding ground for super-geniuses; you never know...

EDIT: From the numbers so far, it seems most of us aren't lacking in self confidence, but I'm as guilty as any else.

Also, on the issue of whether intelligence refers to IQ, critical thinking, academic performance, creativity, common sense, or something else: Uuuuuuhhhhhh, I dunnnnooo.....

I'm above average, with an IQ of 132 according to whatever test it was the county uses to document disabilities. I think you're going to see a pretty large number of IQs above 120 around here, because as a gaming forum, The Escapist attracts a lot of nerds, who tend to be pretty intelligent.

Probably a little smarter than average, I was in all top classes in high school.

IQ test only test how good you are at taking IQ tests. They have no bearing in the real world. And, yes, I'm good at them, generally I get between 140-160.

I'm above average. I have a good memory, great common sense, I'm adaptable, and I understand things pretty quickly. Just don't ask me to do math!

I have an IQ of 132, but all that means is I have relatively good reasoning skills. In day to day life, I'm average at best. Jack of all trades, master of none and all that jazz.

Its kind of hard to tell about my smartness. I've been told I'm quite smart when it comes to history and science but I completely suck when it comes to math, reading and writing, and anything I don't care about.

It varies but I'd say I'm slightly above average depending on the subject.

I've spent the last twelve years of my life being pushed into accelerated academic programs and told that I'm of above average intelligence. By that logic, I'm above average. How smart do I think I am?

Not very. I make a lot of stupid choices and I'm pretty lazy, which in itself is a bad choice. I always have felt that I was far inferior to the other "gifted" students around me, but it never really bugged me. Society would peg me as "above average", I think, but I would go lower at around slightly or just plain average.

At any rate, I'm not denying I'm a conceited bastard, I think I'm above average.

Most of the population considers themselves above average, IIRC. The same thing happened on the League of Legends forums; when players were asked if they were Greatly Above Avg, Slightly Above, Avg, Slightly Below, and Greatly Below, over 70% voted Slightly Above or Greatly Above.

I voted slightly above average because I was in the top 10% of my graduating high school class and I went to one of the best public high schools in Ohio and I got a 30 on the ACT (a score of 30 is considered to be excellent and is only achieved by the top 4% of all test takers [http://www.averageactscore.com/]). But this is only if we are talking about booksmarts (which I assume most people voting are), of course.

EDIT: Didn't see that you acknowledged the fact that the majority of the population sees themselves as above average.

Slightly above average, I assume. Never had to put in any effort in school and still walked out with good grades. If only I had any actual motivation I would probably have graduated with great>awesome grades instead.

I suck big time when it comes to math though.

Not doubting your genius, but was this a real offical IQ test, or just one of those internet ones that takes 15 minutes? If it's the former, then congratulations, that's great. If it's the later, then a giant MEH from me.
