I've never met anyone outside my family with the same surname as me, but I know they're out there.

My surname doesn't actually exist in its country of origin. See, when my great-grandfather came over to Ellis Island, the guys taking the register couldn't understand what he said, butchered the name and basically invented their own name. There's a small handful of people outside my family who have it too, but very small. So yeah, the name's unique.

So far there have been 2 cases of mass fraud and money dealership that I know of involving people that have my surname.

Fairly common, but never in the good sense.

in my country, fairly common, it means Lion in spanish, though in my case I do have a coat of arms (well my family does) which is cool

mines Philbin, which is not very common round my way, but is irish so will be a few about!

EDIT just checked on a british surname website, 15 Philbins per million people in the UK!

Mine's Turner, it is quite common. It was also quite annoying in primary school to be asked if I was related to Tina Turner...
