I'd just get a sex change operation back to male. That problem was solved fairly easily.
You might find a few problems with that. Especially if you value your 'manhood.'

Cool. First things first, I should probably go buy bras and the like, change my profile on things, tell people what happened. Wouldn't really change who I am. Your mind defines who you are, not your body. I would still wear the same things, only difference would be practical (bras) and probably wear dresses at formal events. I guess I'm cool as either sex and in an ideal world I could switch at will between the two. But if I had to pick one I think I would go for female. But as said, being male is fine.

"I have tits now, that's new. Time to see if there's a way to stop my period permenantly."

On the bighter side, I'm told that a girl's orgasm is more intense so that'd be something to experiment with. Purely for science of course.

Initially I would be afraid of how others would view me. How would they respond when I walk into class as a different gender? How would the people at work view me? My family, all of whom are religious, is going to freak!

However, once I realize that everyone is just shrugging it off, I'll settle down. Might have to debate with myself about being an active lesbian (unsure how that would go), but overall, I'm sure I'd come to enjoy it. Then again, I'm too much of an optimist to let things like that get me down. Just don't ask me to get pregnant...

Reminds me off what i've talked about with my girlfriend, what we would do if we swapped body's for a day.

ON topic: You won't see me coming out of my bedroom if it happend, experiments ya know :p only my GF isn't lesbian so that's a bummer then.

I think I'd adapt pretty well. My life is fairly gender neutral. I don't date much, and when I do I'm usually apathetic about it. I'm not particularly masculine, nor do I take much pride in my gender. This new once a month would get on my nerves, and I've always chucked at how much being pregnant sucks, that's something I'll have to avoid. Otherwise, I don't think it'd be that bad, could be a neat change of pace.

Edit: Misogynistic jokes would be harder to pull off... hrmmm

Edit2: I'd also really miss my facial hair D=.

Well, on the plus side, I now have boobs, and I no longer have to worry about parts getting caught in zippers.

But on the other hand, I can become pregnant and now have a menstrual cycle, which is basically like getting my parts caught in a zipper once a month.

Yeah, I think I'll stick with being male, thanks.

EDIT: Oh yeah, and now I have to put WAY more effort into my appearance, including societal pressure to shave more then just my face twice a week. And I'd probably get paid less. Wow, being a woman would really suck. I'm so glad I'm a white, straight male.

They'd be even funnier! Ever heard a girl scream "Suck my cock!" at someone? Hilarious.

OT: I'd want to be changed back. Peeing standing up ftw.

Your thought processes will remain the same but you will be at the mercy of your new hormones. So the newly created women are going to be aggressive and irrational once a month, the new men are going to be like that all the time. :)
Hormones aren't magical. They do not dictate your mood. While they might have some sort of slight influence in mood (and which vary in intensity from person to person), they do not override personality. Women don't get irritable during their periods because of their hormones, they get irritable because, for most of them, it's accompanied by an ache that can range from mild to crippling. Let's see how irritable men are when they're kneed in the balls for 3-5 days once a month.

Just a PSA from your friendly neighbourhood biochemist.
Hormones are very magical. They definitely dictate your mood. The slightest change with your biochemistry will fuck with your mood. There are countless studies that correlate mood to hormones. Here's a common knowledge example: Low levels of testosterone equates to a low sex drive and other less "manly" traits. This example is explored by half the cheap comedies made in the last 2 decades.

You could also say it's your neurotransmitters that dictate your mood, too. Since they directly and indirectly affect your hormones.

I'm not sure what school you went to to become a biochemist, but they usually teach that in first year. So you might have been duped when they told you that your degree will land you a job.

Looks like a case of bad fanfiction... high school, locker rooms, partial nudity, shower scenes, breast groping... and speaking of breasts, every female character is amply doted... why is it whenever a man changes into a woman in fiction, he gets enormous breasts, and half the gags are about coping with his new breasts? Women don't think that often about their chest in real life.
I won't deny that it involves those things but it's never about them and if it involves them (except high school), it's done so that the main character can come to terms with the changing of his body in a woman's. You also mentioned that "women don't think about their chest in real life". If you were given a woman's body for one day, don't tell me as a straight guy you wouldn't feel them. We all know you would. The main character was a mostly average guy who suddenly became a woman so of course he's going to have a teenage boy's opinion of boobs: awesome.

No, no, a thousand times no. I'm not tough enough to be a woman, I'm quite the delicate man flower that would literally freak the hell out the second I got my first period and you can forget pregnancy *shudder*.

However... it WOULD be more socially acceptable for me to shriek like a tea kettle and flee the room whenever I see a spider...

After jokingly comparing myself to Ranma Saotome for awhile and adjusting to a few things, namely the extra weight of having breasts and having a period once a month, things would be pretty much unchanged for me.

I don't think I'd even have to change my name really, I could just drop my first name, use my middle name and if people look at me funny just compare myself to that hacker girl from cowboy bebop, or say my parents named me before finding out what my gender was.
I'd never bother with make-up nor would I really care what society says I should act like, pregnancy wouldn't be a concern since my luck with relationships sucks, plus if my sexual orientation stayed the same that'd make me a lesbian I guess.

So for me it'd pretty much be S.S.D.G (Same Sh!t Different Gender).

I guess I'd be off to find some new sexy lesbian friends. Or I'd be saying hi to my bisexual female friends again. Hmm. Could go alright, I guess. Would be incredibly weird though.

Ehhh, I doubt it would really change much for me at all. My boyfriend is bisexual just like me, so I doubt he'd give a crap. Hell, he might actually find the change quite interesting and possibly fun. =P

In the end I'd just continue on living life like I am now, the only difference being the new genitalia.

I don't think I'd be very happy about it. I've only recently really begun to be happy with my physical appearance and having it change in such a drastic way would be rather disappointing.

I'd also technically be a hetrosexual now. So there's that I guess... Not really sure how I would feel about that. While mentally I would be the same person I wouldn't feel like the same person. It would almost feel like all the time I spent getting comfortable with my sexuality would kind of have been for naught. I guess it has the added benefit of protecting me from homophobes. Still don't know how I would feel about that.

Honestly I've always had a certain respect for women just because of all of the nonsense they have to put up with that males don't. IE periods.. childbirth.. I guess I would feel the not-so-enjoyable experience of periods first hand. Pregnancy is a whole other matter entirely and would likely be completely out of my comfort zone.

I'm not sure if I'd attempt to reverse my gender or not. Most people would question the logic of returning to being a male just to continue being gay. I don't really have an explanation for why I would want to.
