It's not going so well to be honest. I've lost two of my dearest friends, my dog Regan (13 years old) who I lost just last month and my little hamster Kupo was put to sleep this morning. I know that it's the kindest thing you can do for your animals, just jesus it hurts so fucking much that I want to curl up in a ball and just cry it out.

Other than that, my summer is going to be spent looking for a job and doing volunteer work at a charity shop.

I shouldn't say that summer sucks now that I'm old, but realistically I no longer get the same feeling of victory and freedom I had all through school. That said, I am planning a vacation and I've been working out and losing weight again which always feels good.

Had a string of not great first dates, but I've more or less come to peace with that aspect of dating during the summer. I don't know what it is, but the summer dates never seem to go anywhere.

Working. However about 90% of my job is driving, which is ok in winter, but pretty awesome in summer.

Nearly every weekend has been good enough for barbeque despite the British weather threatening us with lightning!

Plus the band I'm in is really tightening up, to the point we might record something this year.

So yeah... summer rocks \m/,

OT: To those who have suffered loss, I wish to offer my condolences.

I'm also understanding from this thread that I forgot the crucial fact that it's winter for the ones down under, although I'm not too surprised about the bad weather. Summer showers have been tough. Apart from that, you're all pretty hard workers, that's good.

Only have to deal with very few people since 4 weeks, and the upcoming 5/6, which means being relatively sane and not having to deal with social anxiety for now. Playing Skyrim after giving Bethesda 4 years to fix the PS3 version, love the damn game, really enjoying it.

Recently had a heatwave here, which nearly knocked me out (quite litteraly, since wamr weather easily makes me dizzy) but it is cooling off now.

I'm goofing off, reading tons of books. It's neat.
Likewise. I'm reading more comics thanks to Image having more of the titles Ilike, and Marvel actually having comics out that I want to read.(They're doing Runaways comics again!) That and I've been playing Shin Megami Tensei: Devil Survivor 2 Record Breaker a bucn lately, occasionally going back to either DRagon Age Inquisition, or Stick of Truth (to prepare myself for The Fractured But Whole).

Working, and loving it. A nice balmy 101 heat index with the humidity hanging just around 50% right now.

Working as an airborne laser scanner navigator, which means my job differentiates between sitting on an airplane, sitting on a computer, and doing whatever the hell I please when the weather doesn't fit with our work. Downsides include irregular hours, lots of nightwork, no chance to see friends and potential boredom. I'd say it's a decent tradeoff, getting to stay at hotels, eating outside and getting to travel the country. Besides, during my downtime I get to finally catch up with my Steam backlog. I just recently finished South Park: Stick of Truth, moving on to more games soon.

Working, trying to relax and shrivelling up like a gremlin whenever exposed to direct sunlight.

I hate summer.

Just graduated college so I'm using that as an excuse to just faff about for a while. It's great. I just watch movies, play games, read books, and chill out with friends.

I have just come back from London visiting friends, but I am going back to work tomorrow. I don't really have plans for the rest of the summer, only a bit of house sitting for my parents when they go on vacation next month. I am really looking forward to December when I am going to Montreal to visit friends. So my summer will be (hopefully) uneventful.

I work full time so summer for me is just like every other time of year. The only difference between summer and winter really is I'm not going to work and coming home in darkness at the moment and the weather is wet and mild instead of wet and cold

Sam Simon is dead, Terry Pratchett is dead, Satoru Iwata is dead and my Dad is dead...Thanks a lot 2015, go fuck yourself.

Other than that, I'm mostly just working. I have nothing really going on, I'm too poor to travel...oh well, I'm mostly just playing video games when I'm not at work. I'm pleasantly surprised by how much better Final Fantasy XIII-2 is than the original, I'm also playing Batman Arkham Origins. While I'm at work and on break; Shin Megami Tensei IV is a game I'm trying to get back into. It's difficult but...I don't want it to beat me.

Slow. I'm looking for something to do to help the days pass quicker, like a volunteering project or joining a sports team. I love relaxing and having time off, but most of my friends around up at school with me right now. All this alone time is leaving me feeling kind of glum.

I picked other, because I have done nothing. I'm done with school, so not studying. I haven't had a job since St. Paddy's Day, so not working. I have no money, so not traveling. And for all kinds of reasons, this summer has not been relaxing, despite all my free time.

Studying. Forever. Last night I had dreams about Riemann-Liouville integrals. It's like the Tetris Effect but with convolutions. I don't know what's wrong with me.

On the one hand, the idea that you can take integrals and derivatives of orders that aren't integers like we learned about in high school is literally the coolest thing in the world. On the other hand, life starts to get kind of lonely when you're the kind of person who thinks that fractional calculus is the coolest thing in the world.

But I have been trying to have fun with it. Any SCP-Wiki fans? I figured out that the Spiral Path can be described mathematically using some results from tensor analysis, so I've spent some time trying to do that because I've had a need to practice differential geometry.

I've been working part time, just enough to make rent, and doing slave labor research at school for my program. Pro-tip, if anyone needs some extra money, Amazon Mechanical Turk is a great way to do it.

Also, I've been learning to play viola lately. I spent some time trying to learn violin at first but I'm too tall and my hands are too big, sadly. But viola is a much better fit for me, so it's been pretty fun doing that.

Working and not being paid for said work.

I am getting a few side jobs to keep myself afloat but they're just not coming up fast enough. Hopefully I'll land another one soon so I can avoid reducing my diet to lentils, rice and spaghetti again...

I'm doing what I do every summer.
Struggling not to overheat in this god awful weather.
20 C+ is pretty much death for me.
The most travelling I'm doing is going for walks, or going for, like, 30 minute drives to appointments and such. Way too hot to go out for pleasure.
Its winter here and the daytime temperature is regularly above 20 C. It is fantastic!

In summer it can get a bit hot, staying above 20 C even at night, with day time temps hitting >37 C (sometimes for a week).

Hottest I have had to work in was 51.6 C (commissioning one of my heavy haul railway safety systems in the outback).
