Poll: Huh........Summer's here.....

One more day this week, and then a week of finals for us. And I couldn't be more excited (well, if I heard about a Star Trek TNG/Doctor Who crossover, or if all tap water was turned into, I don't know, Gatorade or something, or if... wait, OT). Anyway, I plan to spend my summer replaying both Mass Effects, then whining about how bored I am, then worrying about how much summer is left before next school year.

I love summertime, even though I'm not in school. The sun stays up til 9:30 pm so I'm walking home in the twilight rather than in the dark. So much nicer and safer than wintertime (fuck you, 4:30 pm sunsets, fuck you).

EDIT: Okay, well, I kind of hate it too. Then again, my NAME is Summer, so when people talk about the season in conversation I tend to half-listen in because hey, I don't know if they're talking to me half the time.

Well, I'm a Junior in High School right now, next year will be my last year before College so I understand how you feel.

That being said, I'm inclined to agree with you. This school year just blew by in my opinon. It's like I fell asleep in March and woke up in Mid-May.

I would have to say summer is the most depressing time of year, not only you have to worry about drinking more fluids but you also have to be careful of the UV rays.

To add more upon this depressing season, the humidity levels go sky high which leaves you in a state of a pseudo asthma attacks but you also have to deal with the damn heat, how can warm blooded mammals like us enjoy this time of year deludes me, it's far more easier to stay warm in the cold but it's impossible to stay cool in the heat but I will laugh at all you suckers who will doing exams at this time of year.

Meh. While summer itself is great, there are a bunch of people that I probably won't see for a few months that are pretty cool. Plus everyone's always on vacation while we're not going anywhere this year, so I have the feeling that I'll be bored pretty often. School keeps me busy.

Man, how could you not know that summer is coming up? Not to ridicule, or anything, but jeez... I've been ready, not for weeks, but months. I'm finally about to graduate high school, and finally have a little more fun in life (hopefully).
Christmas stopped being a magical time many years ago.
Disney World loses its wonder as soon as you learn that it's really a souless, money-sucking machine.

The last remnant of my childhood happiness can be found in summertime.

Cold? Unless your winter hits -30 to -40 degrees C (before windchill) on a regular basis, which I assume it doesn't, you have nothing to complain about

OT: I've had summer for a month and a half already... This poll is a bit too late It has been unseasonably hot here though. They had a photo in the paper 2 days ago of a popular beach close-by last year, and it was still covered in ice. This year, people are on the beach and swimming already! Crazai

So, today, while sitting in a class in a state of melancholic atrophy, I started picking up pieces of conversations like, "Almost time for Florida..." Or "Have to find a summer job....".

Suddenly more alert, I apprehensively ask the teacher what holiday's everyone's talking about, and I get laughed at. This does not amuse me. I demand an answer, and someone helpfully informs me I have TWO DAYS LEFT UNTIL SUMMER. I seriously didn't see it coming. Not only do I have no plans for the summer, which I always do, I'M BLOODY GRADUATING.

Never before have I wished for MORE school time. So not ready for Summer, or venturing out to find a job and support myself. This sucks.

Wait, are you in high school or uni? And what country are you from? Here in Canada, at least in my province anyway, we don't get out of high school until the very end of June.

Anyway, make sure you embrace summer and just be thankful you're not at school like me.

I like being able to work and have days to do nothing but i hate the weather.

Especially where i live, the weather is nuts all year round but goes completely insane during the summer.

Not having to go to school is okay, but than again I'm going to take more shifts at work to acquire mo' money.

Weather is too fucking hot and not windy/wet enough. Fuck, I kind of wish I lived in England if all the stereotypes about rainy weather are true. I love rain and hate being steam cooked on some days here in Toronto.

So one tedious required activity is replaced with another, although my job doesn't really require much effort or anything. Chances are, I'm going to revert to my regular summer night cycle - staying up most of the night when it's cool, and sleeping during the day because fuck it.

And then there's D&D with friends and all the drugs and parties and rock'n'roll.

I just graduated from college and since I have a job with my local school district I look forward to summer with great glee! Usually I work summer school or work on campus for a secound job but I'm takeing a "Me time summer break" before I go for my masters degree.
