The whole idea of "indie" being a culture is just stupid. Like everyone else is saying, they're just conforming to a different culture, there's nothing independant or individual about them.

The cultural group I belong to is called "normal people". I dress how I want and like the things I like, I'm not shaping my personality based on what other people like doing.

I don't really know what indie is, apart from pretentious (ba-zing!)

I guess I'm somewhere in the mainstream, I like a few "alternative" things, well being a "hardcore" gamer puts me in an alternative culture right there.

Well if you mean the shitload of hipsters we get in Melbourne, then yeah, we seem to have an infestation of 'indie.

Infested is the perfect way to describe Melbourne's current indie/hipster problem.
