Poll: I have an oft unconsidered question, how does The Escapist shave, if at all?

I didn't put much thought into it until about 2 years ago when I got a straight shave during a hair cut. Picked up a straight blade and loved it. Hated the maintenance for it, so I picked up a Merkur Vision 2000 double edged Safety Razor and haven't looked back.

I get baby's butt smooth every morning, and its actually a favorite of my morning ritual.

How do the rest of you shave, if at all?

Shaving is the thing I hate the most, so I use an electric razor.

I used to use a Gillette 3572 bladed razor, but I rarely shaved.
So my girlfriend got me an electric razor for christmas, and now demands I use it regularly.

Its kind of a shame, thats the story I hear from alot of people these days. Nobody likes shaving.

I personally think its cause of the crap that is pushed on most people. Those 5 bladed monstrosities are worthless, and cost an arm and a leg in comparison.

I'll be the first to admit my Vision costs a load, but i'll be using it till i'm old and grey, and at $5 for 10 weeks worth of blades, it may even pay for itself.

I dunno, DE razors aren't for everyone tho, big learning curve. One second getting a nice shave, next second no face.

I use an electric razor with a generic No-Name straight edge to catch what it can't get. It's a pain.

Umh, I shave about every 2-3 days. By shave I mean I run a beard trimmer across my face to take it all down to a slight stubble.

On occasions when I need to look nice, I have some super duper 5-bladed space razor I use. It's very effective.

Once every three days approximately at the moment, though I may increase that to once every two days when I return to uni.

I shave with my great grandfather's straight razor. I like having a heirloom with a practical purpose. Just gotta be careful lest i slit my own throat.

I haven't shaved in a long time. I used to, but I just kinda stopped giving a fuck. People ignore my existence anyway if possible, so it's not like I have a reason to care.

The point of the thread is, everyone I ask either gets by with an electric razor, which is hardly shaving (all of the ones I've ever used, including the >$190 versions, are worthless for getting a smooth shave), or one of the plastic pieces of junk from the men's aisle of the local walgreens or walmart.

I don't know anyone personally who uses a straight razor, or any other form of facial hair removing equipment besides the ones listed.

I was just wondering if the escapist feels me pain, or if I'm alone in this.

I don't really shave that much. I have a Rob Zombie thing going, and it looks much better than a clean-shaven face.

When I do shave I just use an electric once. Nice a quick.

Yeah, I'm also 17 and have damn all in the way of any facial or body hair. I shave maybe once every 2-3 weeks.

I only shave on special occasions, and such occasions very rarely happen, so I almost never shave. I have a semi-beard right now.
