Poll: I have an oft unconsidered question, how does The Escapist shave, if at all?

Isn't it great being a girly 17 year old boy?
In some ways yes others no. I could not shave and look easily in my 20s(early 20s) apparently at 17. Also when people liked to go "Yeah I am starting to get a treasure trail or some hair on my chest!" I can show off and say "Yes so am I." but it must be seen rather than read.

I shave once a week as I shave with the grain then against the grain and I cut myself that way. If I only shave with the grain it is pointless as it more or less grows back in a day.

I use an electric razor and it is basically a chore, I don't really get how you can have a favourite morning ritual of any sort other than perhaps long showers. I'm rather lazy and tend to let mine grow out for a few weeks before shaving again, though it's probably a habit I ought to break as I definately look better clean shaven.

I use an electric shaver, but I lost the little circular blades that go in the top, so I have to use the built in clippers that pop out of the side.
They give me an awful face rash, so I rarely shave.

Note: I was on a trip and forgot to put the shaver in the little travel pouch, and so the bits are strewn across the suitcase, where they may never be retrieved.

Apologies then.
The point of the thread is, everyone I ask either gets by with an electric razor, which is hardly shaving (all of the ones I've ever used, including the >$190 versions, are worthless for getting a smooth shave), or one of the plastic pieces of junk from the men's aisle of the local walgreens or walmart.

I don't know anyone personally who uses a straight razor, or any other form of facial hair removing equipment besides the ones listed.

I was just wondering if the escapist feels me pain, or if I'm alone in this.
i feel sorry for you, sure i have to shave every 2-2.5 days but my electric shaver which i have had for 5 years hasn't let me down yet, i don't have even the slightest bit of stubble (if i ever do it's usually because i'm in a hurry and do a quick 1-2 minute shave)

Yeah, I'm also 17 and have damn all in the way of any facial or body hair. I shave maybe once every 2-3 weeks.
Really ? Since the age of 16 I've had to shave every second day. Now I just grow a small beard. So convenient not having to shave so often =)

I'm 17, and have to shave every day. Can't use an electric razor even. Mom got me one for Christmas when I was 15, and the damned thing wouldn't do anything. I use basically whatever 3 blade razor I can find on sale.

I appear to be one of the few that uses a razor. So, that's how I shave, and between once a week and three times a fortnight.

Really? I've had to shave since I was twelve. And if you think that's bad, I had a friend who started at ten.

I can't grow hair on my chin, but my lip seems pretty determined to grow a retarded-looking moustache. So when I feel it getting distinctly less smooth I shave it with startling efficiency and no blood loss. I just use my dad's razor though, I don't know what it is.

I shave a goatee in, I use one of those electric razors that the army use to give people buzzcuts, because they're cheap but do the job well. Then, rarely, I sometimes take the stubble to the skin using a Wilkinson Sword Quattro. All about four blades baby. Did it today for the first time in months, you can see where I've caught the sun :p

I currently don't shave. I tend to stop shaving at the start of autumn and start again when it gets warmer in late spring. This can confuse people I see on occasions, but it's just the best way I think. Gotta get a good beard on before Halloween. When I do shave I have some ridiculous Gilette thing, with five blades or something excessive like that. I fucking hate those adverts though.

Personally i only like shaving every three days, but my gf demands i do it every day (apparently my stubble is comparable to sand paper).

I use one of <link=http://badgerandblade.com/vb/showthread.php/163930-Wilkinson-Sword-Tech-3-Wal-Mart>these for daily shaving. I used to use a Gillette Fusion, which I will admit was much easier to shave with (with one of those, shaving cream is completely optional, and frankly unnecessary), but I couldn't afford to spend upwards of $20 for four blades. The one I'm using now costs $5 for four blades, and gives about as good of a shave as the Atra razor that I used to use before I got the Fusion.

I also have an electric trimmer, which I use about once a month for beard maintenance; I only keep part of my face completely shaved, and the clippers are easier to deal with than a pair of scissors and a comb.
