Okay so here's the deal I've been playing Call of Duty Black Ops 2 since it's release and I discovered a fun little piece of equipment called the black hat. for those who don't know yet it's one of the most amazing things ever. It lets you hack enemy equipment and make it yours, destroy scorestreaks through walls, and most importantly unbox enemy care packages just as fast as they..... from a distance.


It also works on your TEAMMATES care packages and they can't exactly kill you in order to stop you.

Needless to say I have been stealing the crap out of my teammates care packages purely because I find their reactions hilarious. Their rage is delicious to me.

so tell me, while it's obvious that I'm being a jerk would YOU do the same thing? Even if it's not for the delicious tears and rage but for the tasty tasty scorestreak rewards?

If for whatever ungodly reason I was playing a Call of Duty game that came out after Modern Warfare, and somebody kept doing this to me, I would just quit. I shouldn't have to put up with this level of douchebaggery, and anybody doing something just to get a negative reaction in a video game doesn't deserve any attention. You're deliberately ruining the fun of people on your own team, and that's not cool.

And if you're going to be a massive asshat to people on your own team, at least be creative about it. Don't just use one ability against your own team, think of something unique that would require planning and skill (or an large amount of luck).

Well one time I threw out a bouncing betty (think a land mine) by accident and a care package that a teammate called in landed on it and the care package got launched off of the map from the resulting explosion.

Sounds like a massive dick move really - but it is in the game, so you're more than entitled to use it. I probably would as well to be fair for a bit of sadistic fun, but I'd try and draw a line somewhere...

Is being able to take care packages from your own team intentional? So I don't play the game, just seems like something that could be a bug.

Hell yes, but I have troll tendencies when it comes to shooters and sandbox games...or EVE.

Well you can normally take their care packages anyways but normally it would take you about five seconds to open it while the person who called it in would only take one and a half. It's done like that so that if they get killed you can grab it so that your team doesn't lose it completely BUT if they don't get killed they can still grab it.

On a side note with the black hat assuming it's not yours it takes about two seconds, most people stand back a bit from where the care package was called in because if it lands on you then you're dead which is why the black hat is so easy to steal them with. I can open it from a distance as long as I keep my crosshairs trained on it meaning that with practice I can open it while it's falling.

Besides, it doesn't even matter who activated the UAV, it benefits the entire team and it doesn't matter who used the lethal scorestreak, the entire team gets the points, right?

Yeah pretty much. I have Teammates steal dogtags from me all the time in kill confirmed and I don't whine. Basically what it boils down to is that I'm allowed to dish it out BECAUSE I can take it in. If a teammate stole one of my care packages in this manner I would just be like "OW MY PRIDE" and get over it because my pride has an advanced healing factor.

I dont see whats fun about ruining other people fun for no reason at all, ESPECIALLY in such a cowardly way like this one example.


Now that begin said, theres a reason of why this is in the game (and its apparently not a bug) so IMO it should be server toggled or something.


Why ruin a very fun and excellent (or more like only decentish in the case of COD Black ops 2... seriously, the multiplayer in MW2 is still the best one EASILY) game just so you can enjoy yourself only? (Spelling? Wow I still suck at english I hope that somebody could understand what I just said).
