I could never do dark side on SW games...

I actually genuinely fail to do it..

I really wanted to do it for KotOR I..

Watching this vid...

...I think I finally know what my problem was.. I was playing as a same sex character..

I need to play as a female char.. that way I can distance myself from the moral situations, while also feeding my male paranoia that women are all evil

^.^

P.S: As I'm posting this I just remembered that I have played Jedi Academy as dark side once, only cause there's hardly much difference to the plot if you do.

I generally have a hard time being a dick in ANY game.

Except fallout 3, I'm a sweetheart to everyone but I nuked megaton.

I almost refused to complete Portal when it required me to incinerate the companion cube..

I stood there 10 minutes trying to see if there's a way around it.. then my buddy who was making me play the game lost patience and just told me to do it already..
and...
I..
I... I did... :'[

Yeah, it's tough for me to be a dick - even though I told myself I would in Fallout 3 on my second playthrough, the most I did was steal a bunch of stuff; I still ended up with "Very good" Karma by the end....

I always try to be the "good guy" but then the game characters A) Start treating me like crap or B) Treat me as if I was a child, and by then I've gotten fed up with half of the main characters and decide...this could all go away with a single bullet.

Evil...is just easier

I know how you feel, I did the same thing.

Also, I have yet to get the "Renegade" achievement for Mass Effect.

Once i started doing this it became a lot easier to be evil (or just dick-ish) in any game that lets me. KOTOR, Mass Effect, Dragon Age, Fallout, and SOOOOOOOOOOO many others.

However i wouldn't say women are dicks, i say anyone named David is a dick. Well, not EVERYONE named David, i have just found that if someone is a dick then their name is more likely to be David. Ok, getting off point now...

Your opposite-sex character is just easier to be a dick with, that is all.

The beautiful thing about TIE Fighter was not only that you played for the bad guys, but by showing their point of view you could really believe you were actually on the side of good and order. If any game did it right, it was THAT game

You really have to try both sides of the story. I usually go good for the first play through however.

I'm usually on the side of good.

Every now and then, though, someone pisses me off and I cap 'em. Or it's just too funny NOT to kill them. Chaotic good then?

(For reference, I'm taking my experience from Mass Effect/Fallout/GTA et al. Same goes with Star Wars games, though).

I suck at being evil in the SW universe. Tried it once in KotOR1, failed miserably. Tried again in KotOR2 and failed miserably. The only one where I even came close was Force Unleashed and that was only because you pretty much play an evil character straight up anyhow.

Dark side powers initially seem better than light side, but as you level the powers up there is very little in it.
I can't do it, can't bring myself to be an asshole to those little virtual people (which is weird as people who have crossed me IRL would say I am a real ***** ;-) )
I can't do renegade Shepard either.
I am so damn virtuous I pretty much float on a smug cloud of godliness!! :-O

Light Side, because the Dark Side practically always mean being Chaotic Stupid. The Light Side wins, because just being a nice guy is good enough to max it out.

Well, in most of my games i kind of take a gray moral view point that sways to the dark a little
Value peace and order but the ability to do whatever it takes to get there would sum it all up.
