Have you guys ever tried to look for money on the ground?

Personally, I sometimes do that and I must say Ive found money on the ground a few times already. Obviously I cant live from that or rely on that to purchase things, but sometimes I like to do it.

Also guys......not just money but Ive also found items on the ground in the streets as well. Nothing useful or anything, but I found a flashlight a while back and it even had batteries in it and was working perfectly fine.

So guys.....tell me, do you do that? Do you ever search the ground sometimes for items and money?

I found $20 once as a kid.

More recently, I found $50 while walking to work. Now whenever I walk past that spot I find myself scanning the footpath, y'know, just in case lightning strikes twice.

I don't actively search the ground for money, but I do tend to walk with my eyes downcast and sometimes I come across stuff. Usually coins, but I think I've found some bills before. Not in a long time, though. Then again, I also don't go outside much. :p

I don't actively search for stuff. It just makes finding something all that more special you know?

In my city there's a street where thousands of coins have been laid into the pavement, it's trained me not to look for ground money somewhat

I often look around the footpath, and though I have found a few dollars (5 at most) it's mostly to avoid stepping in things like gum and puddles.

Nah. I mean, upon rare occasion I've found paper money here and there. But nah, don't actively search the terrain for dropped cash.

Same here. Was at my brothers baseball game, went walking in the local school playground, found 20 bucks. I was.....14-15 then? That was a LOT of money. I was thrilled.

I don't intendedly look right down at the ground for money, more like it was a coincidence that when I look down I found some change on the floor.
Granted when I do look on the ground at work (search for any items that drop off the shelf) I have found some money more than a few times. Those situation I do report the drop coins to my supervisor even when there are no camera about (I value my job more than to steal some loose coins).

Back in the day I was on the dole (welfare) and therefore stoney broke (unless you're a particularly rabid conservative, in which case I was living in a mansion with fifty plasma TVs and...I dunno, some gold-plated illegal immigrants or something, and I did it all on your tax money, mwahaha etc), so I'd constantly be scanning the floor and indulging fantasies of finding a fat wad of cash. Never happened though. Well, one time I spotted a tenner, but the guy I was with managed to snatch it up before I could and claim it as his own.

Nowadays I actually have a job and money in my pocket, so it's not something I devote any energy into looking for.

I feel like there's a relevant XKCD, but I can't remember exactly what and I don't really want to spend the next 2 hours looking through XKCD to find it. But I'm sure it exists.

I don't look for it but if I see something worth picking up then I will. Haven't actually found anything in years though. The last find was 2000 pesetas (Yeah, that long ago) on the floor in Spain. Speaking of Spain: swimming pools are the best place to find dropped coins. I lost count of the amount of times that I got free lunch courtesy of the deep end.

Lies. You're there right now aren't you?

Anyway, not quite on the ground but you'd be surprised how often people use self-checkout machines and walk off without their change.

I used to do this at school discos as a kid. Usually found quite a hell of a lot of coins. I've found one or two £5 notes too but that was by chance.
