It's Christmas. What am I doing? I'm getting some of my uni work done. It needs doing at some point and I am doing it now.

What am I not doing? I'm not rocking on my heels at the foot of the christmas tree asking every five minutes if I can open them now maybe just one before dinner please please please?

I never thought that growing up would sneak up on me like this. I always assumed that either it would never happen or that if it did happen I would be aware of it. Growing up seems to be a process of mistakes you vow never to make again and, I don't know, when I was a kid I just assumed that there was more to it than that. It terrifies the crap out of me to think that the people who I looked up to might have been making it up as they go along like I am now.

I sorta feel sorry for you, as I'm in the same position, at uni, with work to do. But mate, I'm the guy at the tree telling everyone to hurry up so I can open my presents.

Christmas, New Year, Easter, Halloween, Thanksgiving, Other Random National Holiday, my birthday, anybody else's birthday, the weekend, Fridays, Mondays, what's the difference ?
It's just another day for me.

I guess I'm getting even older...

I don't even have a tree up or any presents this year. I haven't even been home in like 2 days since work is so busy.

Oh well, at least I have writing time.

It means that you are getting older, not old =) Your priorities are different.

We have a big meal planned, the 5 of us that live together and that - to me - is what Christmas is about now. Just hanging out with friends, having a bit of time off and sharing a great meal. The gift giving and even the decorations are just too material and unnecessary. Hell, I was happy with an extra hour in bed.

I guess I kinda treated christmas this year the same way I treated my 25:th birthday earlier this year: "I don't really have the time". Stress from different sources is making it hard for me to sleep at night.

This school thing is slowly draining me it seems... thankfully I only have like 6 weeks left. Then I can start my new career as an electrician, which will allow me some more time off.

I... Kinda feel excited..? I might get a new Shin Megami Tensei game to play for ~20 hours and then neglect finishing. (I'm sorry, Nocturne! But you kicked me in the balls so hard I don't think I'm capable of reproduction anymore!)

And thinking to just last year, when I was 15, I was sitting next to the Christmas tree and staring at my presents, trying to figure out "WTF?"

Thank you, you have now made me question the point of life and I'm now depressed again. Why can't everyone in my household wake the fuck up already.

Christmas for me was yesterday, since I'm Swedish, and I guess I was a bit excited. Though had I been at home, and not with a bunch of relatives, I would've probably not celebrated much at all.

Yeah, Christmas has lost its appeal. I've had no pressies this year, but I'm not all that fussed.

A-levels are more important to me, plus I don't really want to celebrate Krible any more. New Year makes more sense in my books.

I completely forgot what day it was midweek. Needless to say, I wasn't counting down the days.

At 24, I still like Christmas. I don't get excited about the prospect of gifts, but I do like the way alot of people behave at this time of year. I work in a pub and it's good and cheery(word?), everyone's happy, and my tips go through the roof.

It's New Years Eve that I'm completely over. I had little love for it as a child, and that hasn't changed now that I'm an adult. Through some miracle I'm not working NYE this year, I shall spend it watching films.

Well while I will admit that I am here anticipating opening gifts after driving back from the institute, Christmas kinda...snuck up on me. I didn't really notice it was here until I was asked what I wanted for christmas last tuesday.

I just don't give a fuck anymore. It's expensive, time consuming, turns nice kids into impatient little shits and after 9 am it's the same as any other day.

I'm not even religious.

I wasn't happy for Christmas because of the presents. I was happy because it means I get to see all my family and close friends together in one day, and had one kickass meal. I also got a much-needed day of rest off work. If I want frivolous shit, I can buy that for myself. But if I want something with thought and meaning behind it, well, I have to wait for either Christmas or my birthday.

I've been pulling 9, 10, 11, and even 13 hour shifts, with as little as 8 hours between shifts. It's fucking crazy.
