Christmas, New Year, Easter, Halloween, Thanksgiving, Other Random National Holiday, my birthday, anybody else's birthday, the weekend, Fridays, Mondays, what's the difference ?
It's just another day for me.

I guess I'm getting even older...
I feel the same way

Yeah, I hit the "Christmas? Meh," phase last year.

It's nice and all, but I've got 3 days straight with family, getting gifts I'd rather just have the money for (selfish? Yes. True? Yes.) and not being able to do the things I need/want.

2 bits of English lit. coursework, I've got a Maths module on the 5th that I haven't yet revised for (A-Level maths by the way, for which I've had 3 glorious U's in assessments), and I need to do some wider reading of Victorian literature for English.

Alright, so it's no Uni work, but I am one lazy guy and I need the maximum amount of free time that I can get to force myself to do it!

I sympathise. Right now Xmas feels to me like any other day with the exception of I've been roped into cooking an overly fancy Sunday dinner. We are all flat broke, so noone has gifts. Its just boring tbh, Id rather be at uni

I'm not too enthused for myself but I am for my brother and sister. Seeing them get things I could never get when I was a kid is great

I have until the fifth of Jan off, but I didn't wake up on Christmas morning wanting presents. In fact, I was forced out of bed just to go to my family's place.

It's hard to get excited over Xmas when you're not a kid anymore. The magic is gone, I suppose.

Someone should seriously get this on a T-shirt. Then casually wear it to uni. *innocent whistle*

Yep, you're an old fart. Ya should think about pre-ordering a new hip, can never be too prepared at your age.

Eh, even money says that shirt already exists somewhere. ... I should look into that.

OT: No, that's not how you know you're getting old. You know you're getting old when you're so busy with uni projects or whatever work needs doing that you actually forget your own birthday. Happened to me on my 21st, and ever since then time has been flying by 'with nary a backward glance or tip of the hat'.

I stopped being excited for Christmas some time in my teens. Specific time isn't completely known to me, but I think it was a slow, progressive thing.

What am I doing right now? I have an ice pack on the side of my head and I'm eating hot and spicy chili.

Really, I'd rather just skip the obligatory "show people that you care about them by buying them expensive shit" phase. If I want something, I'll wait until Boxing day when it's on sale (or if there's some other sale around Christmas time, I'll take advantage of that. - Woo, Bionic Commando Rearmed for $7 CDN on Steam)

I could also do without the "binge on family dinner until you can't eat anymore." I'd rather just cook my own food and not have to worry about gaining 5 pounds over the course of 2-3 days.

The worst thing about being back with my parents for 3 weeks (college Christmas break) is that I can't host radio shows (what I'm going to college for), train at my mixed martial arts club, or do my job teaching kids to read. Aside from things like helping out around the house by cleaning dishes, I'm pretty much useless.

No, though there are a couple of things on TV worth watching for once.

I work a warehouse job for one of the largest boxing/MMA retailers in the world. Needless to say my job sucks the fun out of the holidays. You would be amazed how much shit the many jackass MMA fans buy each year. "Daddy daddy! Santa got me some UFC gel wrap gloves and Throwdown shin guards! YEEAAHHHH"

BUT! I love getting gifts from my wife, she's a great Xmas shopper!

Er, haha, it's a holiday, Janny! Relax and take the holiday off from grammar-nazism. :p
And have a festive hot chocolate with marshmellows and stuff. On me. :D

I wasn't counting down the days or anything, but it's been nice. I didn't get anything expensive, just some clothes and a pocketwatch. But it was nice to spend Christmas with family.
