There we go, lump me in with that percentage, I guess.

being a Canadian Australian is a difficult lifestyle, the constant stares, the religious fundamentalists banging at my door, but I cannot hide from myself and I will be proud to say that yes I am Canadian.

"Gay" and "straight" doesn't exist as it is portayed in the media. I wish I could find it, but there is a famous report running in America once a year for 50 years now. I don't know if it is still running. But consistently it has shown the same thing.

You have 10% of people who are 100% straight
You have a slighter large percentage of people who are mostly straight but with some homosexual fantasies.
You have another percentage of people who are slightly straight and with mostly homosexual fantasies.

Then you have bisexual people in the middle.

And the opposite for the homosexual end of the scale.

It amazed me to find this out. Viewing sexuality was never the same for me once I found out about this report.
Wait. Someone other than me thought up this spectrum? Well shit, and here I thought i was original and inventive.

I'm hetero, though I've accidentally convinced a lot of my friends that I'm a lesbian...
I've heard that Canada's a very nice place, perhaps I could try being Canadian to shake things up!

Ehhh... I'm Hetero.

But some of my friends think I'm homo/bisexual due to the one time I made out with a guy (I was young, curious as to whether I'd like it (I'd heard about people not realising they were gay until later in life because they denied it all their life) and was waiting for my girlfriend to show up so I was bored and in the mood...)

Also the "Straight, mostly straight, slightly straight and gay" spectrum is complete bullshit in my opinion, since you may have fantasies about people but it's whether or not you can and do get sexually excited by them. (I base this around the whole fact that I know a few people (Myself included) who cannot perform sexual acts with the gender they are not attracted to because they physically cannot do it (Or "Get it up" to put it in more laymans terms))

Pretty sure this is what you're looking for
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kinsey_scale

Its not perfect because there's other orientations that a scale like this cant represent but its a hell of alot better than just people being straight/gay/bi

Unless you're Alfred Kinsey et al, im afraid you were beaten to it :p
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kinsey_scale

OT: Im Pansexual, its basically the same as bisexual although it encompases ALL genders rather than the traditional male/female that bisexuality includes.

This person is right.

The scale you're looking for in the Kinsey Scale, which you can read at http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kinsey_scale

The short version is that it is a seven point scale which has completely homosexual on one end, completely hetersexual on the other, and 1-5 show degrees of bisexuality ranging from "almost straight, but incidentally might have homosexual thoughts/behavior" to "almost homosexual, but incidentally might have heterosexual thoughts/behavior." Not sure how much I buy their reports' numbers; sadly sex researchers tend to really push their own conclusions. The Kinsey researchers did take some criticism for sample bias and other problems.

A separate category for asexuals is included, though I believe asexuality should also be on a continuum from "not interested" to "if it has a pulse."

Finally, transgender is a separate issue from sexual preference. It has to do with whether the brain and the rest of the body receive the same signals in utero.

Asexual. Does that count as "other" or "Canadian"?
I don't know but being Canadian is a lot of fun. You should join the fun sexuality.
It does seem like fun, frolicking with naught but maple leaves to cover one's dignity, but alas, I'm not Canadian.

Heterosexual, though I imagine I should experiment at some point in my life.

I know that! But i wasn't going to leave it out, i have some pretty good friends who are transgender.
So you're asking sexual orientation on the poll, then including a non-orientation answer (Not counting the obvious joke one).

It's nice to be included, but the problem is transfolk also have sexual identities. I'm bisexuals and trans. Where do we vote, plz?

You really don't want to experiment with Canadians. It's a slippery slope.

I'm heterosexual. Penises are ick.

However, my brother was convinced he was Canadian! We kept telling him it was genetic, you can't just wake up one day and decide you're Canadian.
