I bought minecraft recently and have been playing it loads for the last 4 days.
I started a hudge underground tunnel to mine for stuff, diamond, iron ect. when I found a cave allready formed so I went though mining the rock and minerals and got a load of iron and other bits and bobs.

I reached the end of the cavern and there was a pool of lava, as with past experiance with these pools I knew it was likly there was things a I wanted under the pool.So I dag a big pit next to the pool and started to empty it with my buckets when I had to jump down to reach the other lava blocks. I was safe on a ledge when I suffered a framrate issue and somwhow ended up stepping in the lava. So I set on fire and died so I lost

:2 buckets,32 blocks of iron ore,5 blocks of gold ore,a diamond pick, some stone tools my watch and my minecart

I managed to recover some of the coal I mined (about 67 pieces) but that iron was sooooo needed by me as I only have 4 iron ingots so I was a 'bit' pissed off and am glad that knoch is constantly updating minecraft as hopefully he can make a way to protect your stuff when you die in lava as the less frustrating the better

has anyone else had a FUUUUUUUUUUUU.... moment in minecraft and if so why?

Pretty similar issues.

Tried to create a self-regenerating lava pool inside my Minas Tirith-like fortress.

The spaces in-between the huge walls ended up being lava moats.

Needless to say, working with lava can be dangerous.

I tried to get it yesterday, but it wouldn't accept my card even though there was no reason what so ever for that to happen. :(

Yes it can.

Like this one time, working on a underground tunnel, when suddenly 2 creepers fall inside the tunnel about 2 meter away from me. Lovely.

Yup it can be frustrating. But well, thats part of the Game, you have to be cautious. That framething can happen when you jump in a newly found huge cave, because its generating the surrounding deeper down.

Yes, the same thing happened to me OP. Twice. But I kept going and it hasn't happened since.

Dying and losing all your good stuff in Minecraft is always frustrating, but beyond that Minecraft is alright.

Actually that's a lie, anybody who's gotten lost in the game world will agree with that.

Just use a hacking programme so you don't have to dick around. That's what I did.

I foolishly attacked a pig zombie the very first day the Nether was implemented. To my surprise, attacking one of them doesn't cause just one to attack you, but every one in the Nether...

To make matters worse (not sure if this was a bug, or this is how it is now, haven't played lately), but my items weren't retrievable. I figured they just weren't retrievable in the Nether, so I died intentionally to test it in normal world, and the weren't retrievable there either.

Really haven't played since, I think I got bored with it and decided it wasn't worth the frustration. It's one thing when a game is frustratingly difficult because it has a purpose, a goal, some sort of end in sight, Minecraft is something different all together.

What's the point of playing then?

Minecraft death = Runescape death. Gay.
yeah, that is harsh, but then again, it encourages people to be careful and adds an element of risk to the game :p

Creepers... that is all...
That's a very nice everything you have there...

Yeah, Minecraft can be frustrating but you soon learn from your mistakes. It is an awesome feeling when you complete your project in spite of the mistakes you made along the way =).
