Just use a hacking programme so you don't have to dick around. That's what I did.
What's the point of playing then?
Take away mine from Minecraft and you get craft

In other words, build to your hearts content

I foolishly attacked a pig zombie the very first day the Nether was implemented. To my surprise, attacking one of them doesn't cause just one to attack you, but every one in the Nether...

To make matters worse (not sure if this was a bug, or this is how it is now, haven't played lately), but my items weren't retrievable. I figured they just weren't retrievable in the Nether, so I died intentionally to test it in normal world, and the weren't retrievable there either.

Really haven't played since, I think I got bored with it and decided it wasn't worth the frustration. It's one thing when a game is frustratingly difficult because it has a purpose, a goal, some sort of end in sight, Minecraft is something different all together.

I bought minecraft recently and have been playing it loads for the last 4 days.
I started a hudge underground tunnel to mine for stuff, diamond, iron ect. when I found a cave allready formed so I went though mining the rock and minerals and got a load of iron and other bits and bobs.

I reached the end of the cavern and there was a pool of lava, as with past experiance with these pools I knew it was likly there was things a I wanted under the pool.So I dag a big pit next to the pool and started to empty it with my buckets when I had to jump down to reach the other lava blocks. I was safe on a ledge when I suffered a framrate issue and somwhow ended up stepping in the lava. So I set on fire and died so I lost

:2 buckets,32 blocks of iron ore,5 blocks of gold ore,a diamond pick, some stone tools my watch and my minecart

I managed to recover some of the coal I mined (about 67 pieces) but that iron was sooooo needed by me as I only have 4 iron ingots so I was a 'bit' pissed off and am glad that knoch is constantly updating minecraft as hopefully he can make a way to protect your stuff when you die in lava as the less frustrating the better

has anyone else had a FUUUUUUUUUUUU.... moment in minecraft and if so why?
Exactly that but about twice as much iron and also 7 diamonds too. You'll get over it.

You did something a bit like what I did, except I had obsidian and diamonds.

Minecraft death = Runescape death. Gay.
Oh Runescape, how I miss the thousands of people standing around you waiting for you to die so they could scavange your stuff.

OT: It's easy enough to remake all your tools.

I have a great file, have a diamond pickaxe, and I have died twice, with both incidents relating to lava. I was chasing a skeleton in my mine, jumped, and whoops! Looks like there was a huge pit of lava in that gap you tried to jump! Next time, I had built myself a lava moat. I fell in. Somehow. Thankfully, I didn't have my diamond pickaxe then, but I still lost a lot of stuff.

set it to peaceful diff when playing around lava... you can swim in it for sometime and regenrate health and just swap it back afterwards ;)

No redstone circuitry/tnt/minecart systems etc. You pretty much have to hack it if you want to try building some of the more outlandish things, like computers, huge cannons etc.

But yeh, i out about playing with lava quite early, mining straight down with all my stuff (before i found out about storage chests), ended up falling straight into a huge underground lava lake, not ideal.

Well I would say you need to learn from your mistakes, lava is bad, etc but you had a framerate issue which is a whole other story. So yes, framerate issues are frustrating. I guess you just had bad luck and the game started creating more of the world when you were next to lava.

about an hour after I finally got comfortable in my house and in the game in general, I decided to venture off into the night as I was equipped with full iron at the time, little did I know that there was an exploding zombie on the top of the cliff I built my home into. if you guessed that the zombie agro'd me, than you're right! it agro'd, ran off the cliff, killed me, destroyed the front of my house and left me to re spawn in the middle of the night. I was really pissed off, so I quit for the night

Yes it can.

Like this one time, working on a underground tunnel, when suddenly 2 creepers fall inside the tunnel about 2 meter away from me. Lovely.
Suffice to say, you let out a "FFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU-" that the entire house and neighbors could hear.

A similar thing happened to my friend when he was showing me Minecraft. He went down this gigantic mineshaft into an epic cavern (admittedly it looked like something out of Lord of the Rongs, with lava under this really high bridge and lots of columns and torches) and he was showing me around when he heard a sound. "Wtf was that?" I asked him, toi whcih I got a reply of "shut up, I need to find a way out".
Around and around he ran, for about five minutes trying to find the source of the strange sound until he gave up. Suddenly, without warning, two Creepers and a Skeleton came flying around the corner, blasting him into oblivion.
Naturally I had to cover my ears as he yelled NNNNNNNNNOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! at the top of his lungs.

One time I was looking for coal and so I stocked up on ladders and started build a pit straight down. Did I land in lava? No. I fell directly into the void. No warning. Just bash, ahhh, dead.
There was also the time I walked through a portal, took one step forward, and fell into the middle of a sea of lava. That was pretty annoying.

for me,i found a expansive cavern with an underground forest-like area, seriously.so i dug some stairs dwnward to find another opening into a underground lake of magma.lucky to my surprise i found out that gravel KILLS magma.so i clear out this place digging under and above while destroying magma on the way.then,of course,a creeper appeared and killed me. "no big problem i thought" seeing as there was no lava around me at the time.i was wrong...the creeper not only killed me but crashed my game and KILLED MY SAVE THAT I WAISTED 3 WEEKS ON! giant castle with town gone! my mine/volcano/underground natural forest GONE.over 30 diamonds UNUSED GONE!!! Dx havent played since...and that was over 3 months ago...

Minecraft certainly has it's frustrating moments, but that's what creates the tension in the game right?

I recall losing 17 diamonds as one of my worst minecraft moments, luckily I was pretty far in my world by then so I had a good amount of iron and diamonds already stored in my safehouse.
