Until you shiv them in the spinal cord. If you can, obviously.

Yeah, but then an even bigger (or possibly quicker) guy shivs you. And then takes your lunch money. Eventually the people with the biggest shivs decide that they're tired of having to fight to keep their lunch money all the time and they appeal (likely through violence) for leadership in the name of a safer world. Then you have government again.
