Down looks neater, plus Men are really messy pissers who don't clean up after themselves so I don't wanna be touching their piss because I have to put the seat down.

How about looking before you sit?

How is that hard at all?

I've once accidentally sat when the seat was up. My ass was not broken.

I pee sitting down. I don't tell other men to put it down for me. I TELL THEM TO STOP PISSING ON THE SEAT!!!

Plus, I'm pretty sure it's instinctual. In nature you can just pee wherever, barely stopping whatever you're doing to do so. Men don't sit down to pee in their natural environment, because there is no reason to, and doing so would leave you vulnerable to predators.
Because staining an area with your hormone-laden piss sure wouldn't tip them off :p
Lol. You know a lot of animals use pee as a way to mark their territory right? Having the scent of pee all over the place actually scares off a lot of animals.

And I think he meant the risk of being attacked while you're peeing. Not so much the risk of a predator knowing you're there. XD

I've always kept the lid and seat down, because otherwise my cats would get into the bowl.

Keeps it neutral, too. Everybody has to work in order to poop.

I put the seat down even if I just put it up to take a wizz. I have to live with three female flatmates so I consider it common courtesy to put it down afterwards.

I keep my toothbrush in a cup on the counter next to the sink. Yes, in the same room as the toilet. Is that not a common practice? I've never heard of somebody brushing their teeth anywhere else in the house. My shaving kit is also in there.

Even if the mythbusters experiment was wrong, I'm still not comfortable with the idea. I'm going to continue putting the lid down.
most toilets here are separate rooms to the bathroom, ensuites and really small houses are about the only exception

Oh what, Women, are you going to use the excuse that "both sexes need the seat down at some point?" Well I call bullshit! I've been training myself to never need the seat down! Cracked was right, crouching is how God intended people to poop, so I just stand up real tall, and take a squat. Way more comfortable than sitting.

And suddenly seat up is how I handle all my business. Now who is inconsiderate?

(I actually do squat, but that was all supposed to be a funny argument. Really, who doesn't look before they sit, and is too lazy to move the seat whichever way they need? I voted no, because I can handle my toilet business myself, just like a expect another functioning adult can)

I put the seat and the lid down. Ha, now both genders have to do work. Equality ensues. You're welcome, world!
Ninja'd. Yeah. Seat and lid down. No matter who uses it next, they have to lift something.

We wouldn't have this problem to begin with if we just took off the damn lid.

If I post a picture of a kitten, will people stop quoting me? Will that appease you??

The ones that can kill you though, not so much, I suspect.

I toilet has two seats, the ring and the lid. Put down both and you have a much neater house :)

I find it silly of women not to check the seat before they sit down, would be like me not checking to see if the lid was up before starting my business.

Besides its not like I put the seat back UP after I have done number twos, even though I am single and living alone...

Alright then, I didn't know that. In Canada and US, the toilets are usually in the same room as the bathtub.
