Poll: If life was a video game, what genre would it be?

why didn't you put JRPG in the poll?

2 reasons I imagine.

1) They're just RPG's from another culture yes but they still follow most of the basic rules of an RPG.

2) It's a tad incriminating to say your life revolves around angst and hanging around underage girls/boys that look like girls

well I can see you don't like JRPGs much. I think they are alot better than most WRPGs coming out these days.(i'm looking at you The Witcher 2).although DE:HR is one of the few exceptions.

Actually I love Japanese RPG's. The Final Fantasy series (9 being my current fave), Shin Megami Tensei games, Persona 3/4, Valkyria Chronicles are just some of the games I love. I'm just familiar with the sterotypes/tropes of the genre which do include underage girls and boys that can look like girls.

But I'm also the kind of person that doesn't really regard it as a genre because they're all RPG's regardless of country of origin, I don't say European/American shooter even though there are big cultural differences, I don't say W or J platformer even though they're both popular and have their own telltale signatures. The big irony with JRPG's is how they're mainly derived from Final Fantasy which was in part modelled from Dungeons and Dragons, a very western pen and paper RPG (don't tase me if I'm wrong though)

I don't see how any other option exists as you're not using guns at age 1 - 19.

During the day you have to survive daily life in the face of mundane-yet-horrible everyday occurences and nasty people, in the night you investigate the conspiracy as aliens in the shadows threaten to torture you and invade your mind. Don't piss them off. Just don't.
