Can make horrible choices and I won't get in trouble for a full hour. Make my way to some random girl and probably rape her. My friend has a gun and I would steal it and rob a bank. Friend would shoot all the other people that had the same idea. Would take all their bodies and dump them on somebodys lawn that I didn't like. Take a fresh beer out of the fridge and watch all the carnage that unfolded for that full hour on the news. A person is only good because we have laws that say you can't do that. Person will break his own set rules when nothing will happen to them. Will be funny to listen to the people that say they wouldn't.
So you're telling me you'd honestly be fine with raping and killing innocent people and not have that on your conscience? Even soldiers in war, where they're legally allowed to do so, can have difficulty killing their opponents.

Stealing, I can understand, because you could argue that it doesn't really hurt anyone. Nor does streaking; some people might squirm, but it wouldn't have a lasting impact on them.

Can't make up these rules that you might break some day. Make your way to a party one night and your really drunk by the end of it. Your not even a drinker, but you slam back a few just to fit in. Not really bugging anybody and your minding your own business. Really pretty girl starts kissing on your neck and you like it a whole lot. Pretty damn drunk and she wants to take it to her bedroom. Damn girl doesn't want to have sex. Girl says no, but your horny and drunk. Say you will never rape anybody, so did the people that said they would never get a DUI.
I guess it depends on the person and how much alcohol you drink, but most people I know retain at least some sense when they're drunk. I was drunk about a week ago at a party, and I'd been flirting with girls and asking them for sex, but when they knocked me back, I didn't try to rape them or anything. The most that I'd done was dryhump another drunk girl in a tent, and then I fell asleep on her arse.

We discussed this in philosophy last semester, look up the ring of Gyges. To answer your question, if there were no consequences, I would what most people call an immoral asshole. Definitely murder anyway, cant think of a few people who have it coming.

That might apply to a lot of people, but don't apply it to all of us. Don't think all of us are held back only by fear of punishment. Some of us have moral codes and ethics.

Give me the chance to murder one of my high school tormentor without consequence and I wouldn't do it (Oh I might sock him in the jaw, maybe. But nothing more than that).

Give me the chance to bang a super hot chick who is incredible in bed and my GF would never know? I will turn you down. Because my GF is too special to me and I couldn't bring myself to cheat on the one I love.

Also, rape? Really? I don't think so, pal. That's disgusting.

The only time I guess I could be accused of "murder" is if I'm driving a train, and have a choice of running over 5 people, or someone I love. I'll run over the 5 people. I'm only human.

So yeah. I'm sorry, but I'm not some psycho that will cause havoc and mayhem if not restrained by the law. If my action will bring harm to someone else, I don't do it, legal or not.

I am already a terrible person . This would make me a worst person . There are a few people i wish didn't exist , i'd probably deal with them first . Then i would probably rob a bank . Then i would probably live happy for the rest of my life , with all the money and non-consequencial actions... Yeah i'm a terrible person . But this is assuming there wouldn't be any social consequences either .

Edit: take note : i would never , ever , rape or murder a woman or a child .That's crossing a line even for me. I'd probably end up jut paying for sex instead.

I'd still have my morals, but they do not restrain me from hurting or killing people who I believe deserve it. Nor do they prevent me from robbing a bank or staging a government coup. So I'll just go on a few vigilante purges, a few bank heists, and then take over the British government.

Hmm I see quite a few: I don't do that because society tells me not to.. I don't do it because it is JUST WRONG.

Where does that come from though? JUST WRONG? Is this a divine law of nature that murder and rape are JUST WRONG? You don't think society lays down those rules in the first place, deciding what is JUST WRONG and RIGHT?

Paedophilia, for instance, has not always been treated as a sexual perversion. Equally, acting upon it has not always been considered a crime.

Homosexuality is JUST WRONG in many places all over the world, punished by death even.

Funny that people jump to defend, and claim, morality without first having a little think about what it might possibly be... Its only the most discussed concept in history, but sure... YOU know what it is exactly! :D

Go on! I think you saw that option and went.. "hmmm... would I? When I saw THAT girl that never fucked me because she thought she was to good for me... Would I bend her over that park-bench and drill it into her?"

Admit it. If jail and ridicule and losing your job, love of friends and family, freedom, right to vote... You'd all go out and do something nasty!

And as louis ck asks: is it wrong to fuck a chimp?

Don't have some kind of special morals that can't be broken. Have the same will as everybody else on the planet. The people that say what you just said, are no different than the others that broke the law at some point. People that say something is idiotic because a person puts them side by side to prove a point, is the bigger moron. Thats right, read between the lines instead of looking for your turn to be right. Right down the road, maybe in ten years, you will be on the news in a case that involves rape. Down there just to tell you I was right.
I don't even know why I'm still replying, you're a vile creature.
I don't have any special morals. It's human to not want to cause harm to others. Sick 'people' like you are the ones that have atypical 'morals', or the lack of any, it seems.
Rapists are different to people that went 35 in a 30 zone. Murderers are different to kids caught smoking a joint.

And don't you fucking dare talk to me like that. You don't know anything about me, what gives you the right to say I'm going to rape someone in ten years?

I hope for the sake of those around you that either you repress what you're showing here today, or seek psychiatric help.

Robbery. Couldn't allow myself to rape people, though murder [http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_detailpage&v=vbAlfXIPu_M#t=443s] I'm currently on the fence about.

Might apply to you one day as well. Applies to everyone, man this is fun. To think people have some kind of special morals that can't be broken is fucking retarded and funny as hell.
I'm not saying my moral codes can NEVER be broken. I'm just saying that they won't be broken by something as small as "congrats, you are now exempt from all punishments EVER". It would take some serious life-threatening stuff to make me break my principles.

Example:
If a mafia gang came and fed everyone I love into a meat grinder and made me watch, then beat me to within and inch of my life and then I somehow got superpowers, you bet your ass I would have my brutal revenge, and might possibly go on a few random killing sprees. Who wouldn't? NOBODY would still be sane and rational after that!

Example:
If EVERYONE was exempt from all responsibility, and the majority of people started killing and looting everything, causing the total downfall of civilized society, then I'd probably do the same just because it would be the only way to survive. Anyone who wouldn't do so would be stupid.

So if your point is that all humans CAN be broken, then yeah, I don't disagree at all. Everyone has a breaking point.

But if your point is that all humans WILL break down and become psychos if they are merely exempt from responsibility, then I disagree. Not everyone has that little self control.

And that's what the topic seems to be asking. "If you, personally, were exempt from all laws and stuff, what would you do with this new power?". That is what it's asking. And I am pretty confident enough in myself, my ethics, and my mental state to say that I wouldn't do all sorts of terrible things with that power. I might siphon money from crooked companies and park illegally, but I wouldn't use my power to hurt others.

I am a nice person. I don't want to actually hurt anyone. I know what being hurt feels like, both emotionally and physically. So it makes sense to me to not want to inflict that on other people. Yes, I realize I'm not perfect. I never really claimed that. But I know myself well enough to know that I'm not going to go psycho the second I'm not being watched.

Think this is only going to get better(I had no idea people could predict their own future)
You know what I find funny?

People who think they can predict OTHER people's futures. :p
