Part of what makes cosplay so special (and halloween) is that is doesn't happen all the time.

If cosplay became common everyday, well:

1- more crime due to masks being commonplace and criminals can rob a store/murder a guy and blend into a crowd (assassin's creed style)

2- Cosplay would become boring since you see it all the time.

Well I tend to wear a tail and ears a lot, but I'm guessing your talking about a full outfit... If it was my pick in outfit and I could have anything I wanted, then sure! I know exactly which one I'd want, but it's pretty damn pricy... (like 4000 dollars!)[small]its a pony suit[/small]

People tend to chose a bad outfit for them =3. People wearing a cosplay they can't pull of is very obvious and looks horrible, even more so than people wearing completely unsuitable clothes normally. Of course if they want to do that I'm not going to stop them! I prefer to make my out outfits because you get them much more to your liking! Of course it is very time consuming and at times costly (depending on costume), and I guess some people are not capable of getting good results?

Also, as I'm sure you're keenly aware, some of the spandex gets a bit...immodest.
Mmmh, yes... Tight fitting clothing... I can like that, on some people at least Oo.

I voted ONIII-CHAN!
~and now, to google what the hell that means...
Let me save your time: Onii-chan means big/older brother in japanese, while Onee-chan means big/older sister.

OT: I would love to cosplay but not everyday. There aren't many characters for a short, black kid to pull off. I could try to cosplay as Young Xehanort, but I don't have the hair to pull it off.

I would. I'd love to get into cosplay as a serious hobby, but don't know anyone else into it. If I could get away with it 24/7 I don't think I'd ever stop dressing as Green Arrow

Well never been to a convention so I've never cosplayed... but I'd have to say no anyways. Being in costume 24/7 doesn't seem comfortable.

If I ever do cosplay though it's going to have A LOT of work and money put into it. No half ass stuff or paper mesh. Some work that cosplayers put into their outfits is insane and major respect to those people.

No.
nobody should cosplay anywhere except designated weeaboo gatherings and even there most of it is terrible.

Doubtful, I didn't dress up even when I was a kid, so I really doubt I would now, not that I care what people think, but it sounds like a lot of work, unless the cosplay is something simple like Indiana Jones, which I already kinda do, since I already have the clothes and I have the hat, I occasionally will dress like that, but nothing too elaborate and I don't carry a whip when I do it, though when I was a kid I did use to wear goggles everywhere because I thought it looked cool -_- They were almost always on my forehead too, since everything looked yellow if I was wearing them on my eyes, so I guess that was kinda like cosplaying as a Digimon character everywhere, that kinda counts.

Anyway no, I would not do it, but I wouldn't care if everybody else did.

Sure. I'll don my favourite outfit and walk about dressed like one of the Turks from FFVII.

Y'know, like a respectable person who don't make a fool of themselves at times when it's not called for.

I've sort of done it on occasion already. If it were socially acceptable, however, I'd likely wear cosplay more often, however there's also the practical side to it. Normal clothes are comfortable! When I dress up as Archer from Fate/Stay Night, there's absolutely no temperature control, sitting down is annoying, and going to the bathroom is almost out of the question.

On the other hand, it's a badass costume. I learned what it meant to suffer to look good.

Subtly, yeah. I would totally, if I had the resources to get the clothes for cosplay.

By "subtly", I'm talking about normal-looking stuff that was worn by fictional characters. Nothing with a wig or spandex, nothing tacky of needlessly elaborate. If I had a Yasogami High uniform jacket from Persona 4, for example, I'd wear it occasionally.

Hell, I wore Vincent from Catherine's pyjamas to school a couple days ago. With pants, obviously.

Depends if I could get high-quality costumes that are at least 95% indistinguishable from the source.
I have oddly specific tastes.

But only on occasion, though. It'll get hot wearing that here 24/7, and I don't have the ability to passively regulate heat through the Force, nor the rigorous Jedi mental fortitude to ignore it.

Actually, since they're partially Mandalorian, Revan's robes might have had some form of temperature control tech in them.
Dang it, science fiction/fantasy! You cheat again!

But yeah. I'll take the opportunity to be awesome in public. Yes, it's my definition of awesome, but I'm the one wearing it, and you're the one ringing up my groceries as I stand here silently and intimidatingly.
You may never know who I am.
You may never see me again.

Well, while I wouldn't want to cosplay as a certain character, I certainly wouldn't mind if it became more socially acceptable to wear some of the fashions often seen in game.

*patiently awaiting the time for robes/cloaks to make a come back*

...but you already can. Nothing is stopping you from cosplaying everywhere in the case of most characters. I'm assuming you mean if you could cosplay everywhere without people being dicks about it or staring and pointing.

In which case, probably not. It's generally uncomfortable and if no-one else gets the reference it's unfulfilling as well. I would definitely do it for an occasion, or for a stunt or something, but I wouldn't do it just to go about my daily business unless I was going to be in-character and interact with other people.

Why, is it against the law to cosplay out of place?

Anyway, if I had one and was feeling goofy enough, I would wear a Batman mask everywhere.
