Why is it so hard to think about which one annoys tou you the most without thinking of the implications, we all know that it would be a big deal if you where were to get rid of one.
Which creature we dislike the most is not the bloody question, dammit. Look at the title of this thread.
If You Could Drive ONE Pest to Extinction
Sure, it certainly does imply that the creature you choose is your most hated, but what it is asking is which part of the natural world you want to condemn first to mass genocide. In of itself, the question is morally... out there, as mass murder is always the best thing for breakfast.

However, since it's not simply asking which creature you hate and going on to actually destroy them, it leaves the consequences of ecological assfuckery. I am answering the question. I am thinking about it. My comment is completely on topic and addresses the issue. I fail to see why you have a bone to pick with me.

Mosquitoes. There is a sh**load of them in Poland, and they're just like goggles - they do nothing.

Mosquitoes, hardcore.

I would personally love to kill each mosquito on Earth.

Thats the title, I think you're just doing this to look smarter than the rest of the forum, thats why I brought you up on it, the fact that you're correcting my grammar also points to that

Mosquitos. Irritating, messy, and itchy. That's not mentioning the mosquito repellents, which are either smelly, burny, or noisy. They carry blood borne neurological diseases like encephalitis, yellow fever and malaria. These might not seem so bad depending on where you live, but in Africa, they're devastating. Mosquitos are literally baby killers. Sometimes, they can even screw up your brain in small subtle ways that affect your personality, and you wouldn't even realize you're sick. This isn't even mentioning all the people suffering with sickle cell anemia, an evolutionary adaptation to try and fight off malaria. The hornets dying off would be a bonus, but I'd like to keep the bees. I know we said "no ecological ramifications, but that still means no honey. I like honey.

I posted my comment, then he changed the title just because he didn't like what I had to say. I was the first one to say anything about ecology. He slaps that little addendum into the title.
Not my fault he didn't think his thread through properly and getting answers he doesn't want. I'm just answering the question presented.

i hate spiders and cockroaches, but bee's and mosquitoes and wasps and whatever else like that, can all go burn in a fucking fire, i fucking hate bees with a fucking passion, and in the summer there is an over abundant amount here. getting chased by 5 wasps for mowing near their location out the backyard and around the front yard is not fun at all.

ants I was going to say spiders, but my house has an ant problem at times in the summer, so I would rather not have things I know will get in my food, drinks than have things that always leave me the fuck alone, that I can kill at anytime.

I don't know if a spider could be considered a pest, but I would kill them.

I almost clicked the foxes/wolves/ect. category because I was skimming and replaced the word "Dingoes" with "Dragons"

Stupid dragons. Always eating my livestock and stealing my princesses.

I would have to get rid of just cockroaches because even though the options were without ecological effects I can't ignore the fact that the rest have a large impact on our world. If you don't believe me look it up.

For god's sake man, he's basically asking which one you hate most. I know it's hard, but this requires a bit of imagination.
No he is not. If he was, he ought to ask it outright instead of pussyfooting around it.

Oh, that's right. Asking which creature you hate the most is such an easy thread. Rewording it to change the question to make it seem better than it is so more people will look at it is what any competent person would do, after all.
All I really did was create a scenario. Add a little flavour.

And "drive to extinction" sounds better than "click your fingers and watch them vanish".

People like you are the reason why humans can projectile-vomit.
People who answer the question they are given and actually think about the implications of it?
I pity the society you live in if thinking induces such a visceral effect.
Think about the implications all you want. I'm not stopping you. Actually, I encourage you. Discuss them at length, and consider the potential consequences on a case-by-case basis if you want to.

Just don't derail the thread or give me shit while doing it.

To be honest, I only edited the OP to make it clear that ecological considerations aren't relevant because people wouldn't stop moaning about the poll choices. Or my blatant disregard for any ethical considerations. And whilst I agree with that line of thought from a purely scientific and speculative perspective, this poll is intended to accommodate anyone who reads it, including those who take it light-heartedly and then move on.

Torrasque said:
I realize I am just picking at details, but if one doesn't care about the details, one cannot care about the basics.
I agree. But why get argumentative and antagonistic?

Torrasque said:
Bees are not pests no matter what you argue. They may be annoying at times, but they only sting you when you provoke them, and are extremely harmless extremely important insects. Anyone who would want the destruction of bees (economical ramifications or not) is an idiot.
Wasps/Hornets kind of fall into the same category as bees, but much less so.
Spiders are just as important as bees, because each spider will destroy 500% of it's body mass in other pests, in the course of a year. Economical ramifications or not, spiders are still awesome and very important.
lol, Ants? Really? I'm not even going to say why ants are important, because if you don't know, you are officially a retard.
Snakes/Caterpillars/Worms/Leeches: lol, same as ants, you're an idiot if you want to purge these animals from the earth.
Foxes/Wolves/Dingoes/Stray Cats/Stray Dogs/Wild Pigs: Now thats just silly.

Where is the elephant group? I don't like elephants. They are pests!
Where is the stray horse group? They are so annoying!
Every creature mentioned in the poll is considered a household pest by someone in the world, and anyone who reads this thread should have the right to choose whichever "pest" they want. Those that were suggested have been added... I've tried to cater to everyone, not just die-hard nature enthusiasts.

Don't assume that just because I've included an animal as an option, I consider it a pest. And don't assume that I'm a witless imbecile who lacks any understanding of the ecological consequences sure to arise should any of these creatures be entirely wiped-out.

Torrasque said:
No matter what, by including "WITHOUT ANY ECOLOGICAL RAMIFICATIONS" in the topic, you are pretty much asking people "what animals do you really hate?" and that is just a stupid question altogether.
Exactly how is it so stupid?

No. First I added "ecological" to the list of irrelevant factors. I admit that I overlooked it at first, but I initially figured that people would look at this thread in a different light.

Then, because I was copping a lot of flak from bee-lovers (on a side-note, bees can be pests, and not everyone loves them. My brother was stung by one, reacted badly and nearly died in hospital! Though I agree that they're a vital insect that aid both us and the environment in many ways, and that their demise would alter the world for the worst), and added an "EDIT" to the bottom of the OP to make it clear that environmental impact shouldn't be a major factor to consider when selecting a poll option.

Then, because people weren't reading the OP before posting, I added the "(WITHOUT ANY ECOLOGICAL RAMIFICATIONS)" part to the thread's title. Just to make it clear that it wasn't an issue.

Hornets, Wasps and bees... I don't like mosquitoes but I DESPISE those 3 hell-spawned insects...

It all stemmed from that time a bunch of hornets had a big ol' orgy in my bike helmet... right before I put it on...

Daddy long legs, or crane flies, which ever you want to call them, between June to September my house gets filled with these annoying bastards.

They seem to come in hundreds and like to dive bomb for your face and seem to serve no purpose at all apart from flying around in low light conditions with the obnoxiously loud wings keeping me awake at night.

They hardly ever land and when they do land they sit there for days on end just doing nothing.

I mean check them out, wikipedia pretty much sums up everything I've said and more.

This is what I find most hilarious about this product. According to the User Reviews at the bottom of the product page...

This Zapper delivers!!

My boyfriend and I ordered this product on a whim, because it looked like an enjoyable way to spend a Saturday night. After exhausting the supply of gnats and mosquitoes around our home, we decided to experiment a bit and turn the racket on each other. Be forewarned: unless you are highly experienced in electro-play like we are, please do not attempt this. It delivers quite a satisfying jolt upon contact, and I firmly believe that this product will eventually make its way onto the S&M websites. So whether you are looking to zap insects or intensify your "play", we HIGHLY recommend this product. It now has a place of honor in our "toybox" and we can't wait to use it again, this time most likely with the addition of some Halloween "bug" outfits.

Seriously.

Anyway, my choice would be insects of all kinds, but if I have to choose just one, then flies. They just piss me off so much, and looking closely at them just freaks me out... what purpose to things like flies serve to the ecosystem anyway? And don't say 'helping corpses to rot", because that doesn't matter, things like bacteria and such do that more anyway. Flies and most insects are not useful in any way to the ecosystem, those few that are are only useful in terms of being a food supply for things like small mammals or whatever, and there are plenty of insect species that are useful (and less gross) that could be food sources instead anyway...
