Other.
Why? Because you didn't have this option:
Yep, I'd choose that option over most others.
'Most', because I cannot think right now.

How come the "Dune" universe created by the brilliant Frank Herbert isn't on this poll?
Bene Gesserit, Freemen, Mentats, Shai Hulud, the Tleilaxu, gholas, the Honored Matres... Now *there's* a complex and extremely rich world.

I've got to go with the G Gundam universe. What form of entertainment could top a global giant-robot free for all to rule the world? Especially when you factor in the fact that EVERY robot outside of Japan has some kind of ethnic stereotype designed into it. Epic awesomeness and hilarity at the same time!

As much as I loved firefly their universe was kind of an aweful place to live.
Probably of those Star Wars because I would love to have magic jedi powers. Though I'd definitly wear some sort of armor on my forearms and hope they don't get chopped off.

Bladerunner, might be a dystopian future but atleast it doesn't come with borg, reapers and more of that sort of thing.
I prefer not to be harvested by some alien race for reasons known only to them.

I would have to live in the Ratchet and Clank universe. Who could refuse a universe where you can buy weapons of mass destruction on every street corner?

Ghost in the Shell also.

Ghost in the shell. Between brain hacking, cyborg bodies, transmission of full sensory information, and the possibility of digital immortality through consciousness transference, nothing else comes close. Other universes may be, on the whole, more interesting, but ghost in the shell offers the most to the "nameless faceless npc" you would all become.

As far as people saying mass effect for the asari, they could be giant semi gelatinous squids for all you know. Everyone sees them as their ideal female.
Sums it up nicely.
A nice second choice would be the universe of Greg Bears 'Eon', i recommend reading it if your into SF books.

I'd have to go with Firefly since my other choice was 'other'.

If not the Firefly Universe, I'd go live in world from the two Stephen King Books "The Talisman" or "The Black House".

If not that world, then the one The Gunslinger calls home would be just as fitting.

The universe of half life 2.
Why? It's a fun place to visit but I don't think I would want to live there.
As crazy as it sounds, more specifically City 17. half Life 2 is my favourite game of all time and there was just some wonderful charm to the place.

You forgot Starcraft.
that is why I put other.
I feel Starcraft is deserving of more than just being referred to as 'other'
Your mom is an other. XP
Obvious troll is obvious.

Anywho, I'm going with other, for the simple fact that Doctor Who is under other.

No worries, I know it's though to pick only 8 options out of the myriad available. It just seems like a bit of an oversight: the Dune universe has been around for over 40 years, whereas Firefly and Mass Effect are still in their infancy. Don't get me wrong, I love the Mass Effect universe to bits, and I've nothing against the Firefly universe. They just seem less significant than the Dune universe in the sense that it has been incredibly resilient (some scifi doesn't withstand the advancing years), and it's a great deal more complex: it tackles politics, religion, ecology, technology and human emotion all at once, and perehaps there's even a bit of philosophy in there too. What other sci-fi universe does that? The Foundation series by Isaac Asimov, perhaps (and those are missing from the list as well ;) ). Don't get me wrong, this isn't too start to "vs" argument, I'm just defending one of my all-time favorite authors. =)

And it's not "man", that's "Lady", to you!
