In case non-American users don't know, the World Health Organization estimates more than three-quarters of males in North America are circumcised, so it's pretty much the norm here. However, a backlash started in recent years among men who felt there were certain disadvantages to being circumcised, and there are numerous websites devoted to foreskin restoration. On the other hand, there are also lots of guys (and some women) who argue that being circumcised is better.

Personally, I'm cut, but my parents are hardly religious so I'm not sure why they had me circumcised, but not that I've really been jumping to have that conversation with them. If you have a son, will you have him circumcised?

What other reasons are there other than religion for circumcision? I am not circumcised btw.

It makes your penis easier to clean. And slightly better looking, I guess. Cocks are ugly no matter what.

Also I will let them cut it, I don't care. It will be easier before he can think

I'm not Jewish, so why would I do that?

I can't get my head around how it wouldn't feel... uncomfortable.

I think the foreskin is there for a reason.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Circumcision#Non-religious_circumcision_in_the_English-speaking_world

- There is a perceived health benefit, although
- a 1987 study found that the most prominent reasons US parents choose circumcision were "concerns about the attitudes of peers and their sons' self concept in the future," rather than medical concerns

Also, I breached this topic some of the girls I've been with and they claim they would never sleep with an uncut guy. Bear in mind once again that this is in the US, and they've probably never seen a guy who wasn't circumcised.

1. I'm not Jewish.
2. With the way hygiene is handled in this day and age, circumcision wouldn't have much of an impact in terms of cleanliness.

I would for health and religious reasons. However, I don't plan on any children, so it is a rather moot point for me.

Hell no. I consider it to be a very cruel act.

If he wants to mutilate his genitals when he gets older, that's fine by me but I won't do that to him without his consent.

I'd prefer that my son be able to make his own decisions about that. So I'd leave him uncircumsised cause it's his penis. Granted, I'm not Jewish, but even for religious reasons I don't think I would, simply because my son may have different religious beliefs than I do once he becomes older.

Better looking? Not imo. Looks is a matter of cultural preferance (among other things), its impossible to agree on what looks best.

Easier to clean? Sure, if you are mentally challenged. It doesnt take a lot of effort to get some water on a readily available part of your body. Will bacteria gather faster? I guess...but thats not really an issue, if you are the kind of guy that says: I want to get cut so I dont have to wash often....eww :p

There are no sane arguments for getting cut that I can think of, but several sane to not get cut. I dont have experience being cut but I seem to remember reading that getting cut will eventually lead to you growing more resilient skin on your glans, making it less sensitive. I like my awesome sex just the way it is, thanks very much :>

Dont have any source on that though just a vague memory.

I know there are arguments on both sides of the fence for cut and uncut, and getting cut later in life and getting reversed later in life (apparently plenty of people cite greater ease of stimulation after either procedure). I don't really PLAN on having a boy, but if it turns out my one pregnancy gets me one, I'm not entirely sure what I'll choose. Maybe uncut just so I don't have to see him hurt that young. Maybe cut just so he'll be that much easier to clean. I really don't know.

No. I find it quite abhorrent.
I find it funny how up in arms people get about how bad "female genital mutilation" is, yet "circumcision" (see how it has a nice word to describe it?) is perfectly acceptable.

No bloody way, I am not getting my kid cut. If he wants to get cut later on, he can do it himself.
