I've always seen human needs as a waste of time and effort. I feel no sentimental attachment to having a human body. I've contemplated replacing my teeth with dentures. If they made artificial arms, for instance, that exceeded the benefits of natural arms, I would be the first in line to saw my arm off and replace it.

immortality+eternal youth + still being able to change, adapt and evolve would be best, because you would eventually outclass the machines, although until then you would be outclassed, although you wouldn't g insane over the lack of your ability to fulfil certain human... desires that you still had but could not fulfil...

i watched a Deus Ex: HR playthrough, and in the starting credits i expected his eye to go red and say really cheesily "i told you i'd be back" in an Arnie accent...

no idea why!

Now, I don't believe Deus Ex's story completely because most of it revolves around the Illuminati existing, which they don't in real life, at least in the sense that Deus Ex portrays them.
To be honest to the game, somebody said ingame (I believe it was Sarif or Taggart himself), when you sarcastically say, "The illuminati? are you kidding me?" he answers, "That's one name people call them, otherwise the Bilderberg group or the NWO, it doesn't matter, they have no real name."

It's also not ever said they had direct complete control over the world. They however could influence and steer sort off in the way they wanted, which isn't exactly the same.
That's what they're doing in the game plot. They are steering the UN to enact a law they want. That is not direct control or world domination - it's influencing.

I also think the main reason to become a cyborg is to achieve a certain immortality, right? Why else would you want a metal body?
