Yes, but mostly for the living forever fact.
I always feal that my ultimate goal in life is to witness and do the best things that are available to humans (if you see what I mean).
If Iwas a vampire then I could witness major events in the future such as the Singularity, space exploration and the downfall of man.
I could also read every book ever, play every game ever, watch every movie ever and meet millions of people and have the perfect mind after a few thousand years.
But I would have to die eventually.

Considering how diverse vampire lore is, you would have to better define what kind of vampire I would be. Otherwise I could end up saddled with a bunch of silly religion-based weaknesses.

Hmm... Being a kindred would be fun- No. Rainbow Drinker. Only side effect is that I can't die, but I have to drink blood. And I glow. But everything else is normal.

I'd flatly tell him to get out of my face.
If there's an ultimate punishment to a human being, it's granting him immortality.

I enjoy the sun and the day, so that automatically makes it a no. Being restricted to just the night would fucking suck.

Ok, two common complaints I have seen are the daylight, and the outliving family and friends thing.

As for daylight, I dont like it to begin with so no skin of my back.

On the second one, start turning! At least if you offer the "gift" to them and they turn it down you know you tried to make sure they could stick around.

Then there is the vampire slayer problem, I have a simple solution. The U.S. Military. Just stay in wherever you get assigned and you have people keeping the slayers off you, besides how hard would it be to convince your superiors to only put you on night shifts if you have the power of mind control? Heck, you could get assigned to the pentagon with minimum effort. AND you have an entire barraks of food, and medical supplies for backups.

AND, as for the Twilight fans, last I checked they have some attractive members in that fanclub. That and you can just mind control the annoying ones away from you.

Still, i would prefer the Elder Scrolls rules... heck with the life-detecting night vision, compulsion, invisibility, and non-instant daylight burning(which you are immune to for 24 hours after feeding) and everything else you would be set for unlife.

If I was a Blade vampire I might. But the those looking for blood thing could get boring really fast even for a sadist such as myself, I'd much prefer to be a werewolf.

If I could survive on donated blood without always jonesing for the fresh stuff, sure.

Otherwise if it has to be live victims, I don't think it's worth the tradeoff to have to kill people to survive. Super selfish and whatnot. I'm even a vegetarian because I hate having the animals die just for lunch, so vampirism would just seem like a curse.

Are they the immortal super strong mind controlling ones who can still hang out in daylight? Hell yeah I'd go for that.

Certain OTHER kinds of vampires... nope.

Immortality, close-to invunerability, super strength, super speed, shape-shifting, incredible good looks and still possible to die?[footnote]Not sure if all this is in True Blood, haven't seen much of it.[/footnote]

T'would depend on who my sire would be. If they would be a good sire who would help lead me through the first rough patches and keep me from killing people, then I would most likely be okay with it.

Mmm.... nah. I can't really think of anything I'd DO with most of those powers, aside from maybe compelling people (to leave me alone.) But being a vampire still means being largely entrenched in human society, or at least involved enough to feed, and that sounds just awful, particularly if I had to hang around the kind of people modern vampires seem to invariably attract (ravers, yuppies, little girls etc.)
Plus, I find "memento mori" ("remember that you will die") to be good advice that's gotten me through more than one tough time, and I don't think I could tolerate a continued physical existence if it no longer applied.

The whole Twilight sparkly thing, is a 'vajazzle' now a sparkly vampire?

If not, the old defination still applies, a c*** covered in glitter. :D

I have always wondered how immortals get by, seems none of them have a job. You'd have to be a seriously rich family to support immortality I'd imagine :) Of course, I'm being daft even vaguely trying to assign real life problems to sparkly catalog models with pointy teeth.

It's depends which type of vampire I can be.
I definitely will be one if I can be like Lestat from Anne Rice books.
Not the twilight type please....

True Blood? Never heard of it. World of Darkness, though... I'd make a great country Gangrel. I even know where I'd find and keep my brood of ghouls (helps that I've actually played a campaign or two set in this area where we all had to create vamps based on ourselves). I'm for it.
