I'm not against the idea personally but I would like to see more creativity put into it.

If it were up to me, I would like to see a remake of GTA San Andreas but they should add a little something too, like make a separate sequence of events you get to play through as Catlina because she's the sick kind of person I play GTA games as.
Kind of like what they did with the DLC for GTA4 except with a character you could imagine would drive down a crowded city sidewalk, casually mowing down pedestrians.

I would remake KotOR 2, Dragon Age 2 and Mass Effect 3. Without all the bad stories, plotholes, limited choices, reused dungeons, bad characters and bad endings.

Alpha Protocol.

I'd want everything to stay the same in it, but fix the massively broken combat.

That game was so rushed, damn Sega.

Star Wars: X-Wing and/or Star Wars: TIE Fighter.

I know I have a hard time not talking about either of those games but damn, it's been almost 20 friggin years.

I'd like a Spyro the Dragon HD Collection consisting of Spyro 1, 2 & 3. They're not that long, so even if they were remade, it shouldn't be overly hard to fit them on a single disc. More people should experience this amazing game series from one of the most consistently high quality developers in the industry!

System Shock 2, nothing too major, just redo the sounds and graphics.

Same VA for SHODAN though, obviously.

Lego Rock Raiders

Lego Racers 2

Lego adventures 2

Sorry about the overuse of lego games, they were some of the first games I played and still play them today.

Front Mission: Gun Hazard, or Front Mission 3. I actually never played the former since it didn't come out in America, only watched it on Youtube and it looked incredible. FM3 has a great branching storyline, but its PS1-era polygons are quite outdated and plagued by loading times for each battle. In fact I heard long loading times were the biggest problem with the 2nd Front Mission game as well.

Captcha: carbon-copy. No thanks, I like my remakes to have new content in them along with updated graphics.

SID MEYERS ALPHA CENTAURI, a lot of older titles would be dated or lose what made them unique if updated, Alpha Centauri could easily be remade with modern graphics and a modern interface, and extra complexity and depth, and BOOM epicness! :) Also, you could make the unit customization sooo much better today!

If I could pick one I would go for Eternal Darkness, simply because of the new ways they could mess with you in terms of no longer having technoligical limitations. A way of making the Xbox look like it has red ringed would be awesome and probably would scare gamers a hell of a lot more than any jump moment.

So what would you pick?

That.
Is just EVIL.

....do it.

If I can remake anything, I would remake Einhander and Monster Rancher 2, the games I loved the most in the PS1 era.

There are remakes I like for example Resident Evil (GameCube).
But these are basically completely new games which just recycle the story etc. of the original.

Then there are the remakes I dislike. I consider them mostly to be re-releases of the same game, with minor changes, to a new platform. An example would be the laughable HD releases of various games and another example would be re-releases of (mostly) SNES games to portable devices.

However in general I despise remakes.
A cheap re-release is just there to cash into peoples nostalgia and probably long past glory and a real remake takes money and manpower away from a new game/IP that could be developed instead.

If I could choose one game to get the Resident Evil make over it probably would be Xenogears:

Asura's wrath: give it DMC style combat, open the exploration a bit and a overall attempt to take out the long and boring action moments and linear feel

I swear I saw this two days ago and I'm going to say the exact same thing.

KOTOR 1 and 2. Complete engine overhaul. Tweaked gameplay. Added content. Take ALL my money. I'll pay twice the normal retail price.

Oh yeah, that one :|

To name some off the top of my head

Monster Rancher (where did the console versions go?)
Zombies ate my Neighbors
Gundam side story 0079 rise from the ashes
ogre battle 64
fallout 2
front mission 3
legend of mana
digimon world one (I found it to be surprisingly fun if a bit short and glitchy)

There are quite a few franchises I want back...maybe a remake would help kick them off again :)

Colony Wars
Parasite Eve
Road Rash
Mutant League Football
Earthworm Jim
Starblade
RAD: Robotic Alchemic Drive
