Poll: If you own a PS3 do you own a mic?

I have one, but only use it when someone else is using one. I never want to be "that guy". It's rare, but on the occasions i do, it leads to some great moments.

For example, playing RDR, I went into a game of Liar's Dice, and 3 other guys were using mics, so I joined in, we joked around and decided to hang out in Free Roam. We friended each other. It turns out one of them got Dead Rising 2, so we both helped each other in co-op (and let me just say, mics are a MUST for playing DR2 online.) Now we all have Black Ops, and some serious lulz happen.

I never got one. My family's always sitting in the living room where my consoles are, so I barely get to use the Xbox headset I have.
Not much point spending £30 on something I'm never even going to have the chance to use.

Looks like we're agreed in both how overpriced mics are and what is and isn't win.

I own a mic pretty much exclusively to talk to my friends when I play online with them. I don't see a point of talking with randoms.

When mom got me a PS3 last christmas, she bought SOCOM: Confrontation SOLELY because it came with a mic.

Used to have one cuz it came free with Warhawk like 3 years ago but lost it. I'm not inclined to get one either cuz no one else has a mic and I don't want to talk to some random stranger that much.

I own a mic as well as all my friends. Headset actually. And I couldn't play without it. It makes online THAT much better. I actually prefer that you have to go a purchase a mic rather then having included when you buy the console. On XBL, EVERYONE has a mic which means EVERY 12 year old uses it EVERY TIME they play. On PSN only the people who really want to use it get it, which results in a much better community. Thankyou Playstation!!

I picked myself up a universal mic. So, by default, yes, I have one. I don't use it much though.

I have a mic because I needed one for the PC years ago. I have only used it in two games (Killzone 2 and MAG), and in both cases it was my experience that the majority of people either chose not to talk (a welcome relief when compared to a comparable experience on my 360) or did not have a mic.

That's the biggest problem right there, the PS3 doesn't even come with one. The reason there's so many 360 owners that use it is because the system comes with one whether you like it or not.

Hell, I've never really used my 360 mic since I'm not that keen in muliplayers. But at least I never have to worry about buying one if I ever want to.

Yeah i have it, i just don't use ti that much, PS3 is the silent console, you won't get many assholes unless you try to talk to them.

If Sony included mics with the PS3, there would be no problem. I have a mic but hardly use it because there is no one to talk to
