What's the significance of 1909. I'd just answer the questions as best I could.

Chances are back in time anything you'd do to try and alter the course of the future (I.E make everyone believe we'd been taken over by flying Unicorns ridden by Antelopes) wouldn't have an effect, because it would all work out the same in the end anyway, well it does at least in all the films.

Because I could, I'd tell them stock market trends, leading them to the roaring twenties. Than the depression will happen, partly leading to Germany's actions leading up to and causing World War II.
