For background purposes, here's a quick who's who and what they stand for... if you don't already know that is. (also this is earth-616 continuity and pre-M-day, for canonical purposes and canon-fanatics)

Magneto: Sees mutant-kind as the new generation of humans (homo-superior) and believes that mutants can only survive if they are in charge with humans subservient. Otherwise he believes that mutants will suffer as the Jewish population did under Hitler's genocidal regime considering he lived through it (and has the numbered tattoo to prove it).

Professor X/X-Men: Believe that humans and mutants can co-exist if given enough time and diplomacy and the "racial" hatred of a portion of humanity can be overcome by the goodwill that supposedly rests inside everyone.

Apocalypse: Believes mutants are the dominant species and should rule over humanity (humanity being slaves or outright slaughtered). Basically a more genocidal view of Magneto's ethos.

Out of these views, if you were a mutant who would you side with?

I'd probably side with Magneto, though attempt to deal with homo-sapiens mercifully without prejudice. I just don't believe that "goodwill" is a concept that is easily reached with humans due to it seeming easier to "hate" than accept people (mutant or otherwise) for what they are.

EDIT: if I've gotten things wrong in any way, please feel free to correct me. Thanks in advance.

I'd do my own way, like I'd just persue freedom away from humans, like make a new garden of eden, then I'd use my powers to beifit humanity, like go away for a while, then come back to help humans see the error of their ways,
btw, my powers are over lgiht

I'd probably join ProfX and the X-men. Although I don't really believe peace btwn humans and mutants is actually viable, I don't think mutants should rule either and I can't say I approve of Magneto's methods.

I find X-men a bit too naive (sp?). Sometimes you must kill and show force.
Magneto has become what he hated due to his experiences (a nazi).
Apocalypse I don't fancy my life expectancy mutant or not.

So I must go my own way which unfortunately means having to take a large tract of land for myself establish a mutant country then force the UN to listen to my voice by making the country a world power, without trying to go total war and maintaining human rights for all.

if i [b[have[/b] to side with someone, which i certainly do not, then it would be magneto...

humans take a long time to convince and it often takes martyrdom and a riot of some kind in order for any chance to occur. additionally, because there truly IS a difference between mutants and humans, theres is always a reason for segregation... safety, jealousy, etc.

siding with Professor X on this one is unwise and uncertain, so long as magneto's intentions are not war, as it would further decrease the reputation of mutants which, should his plans not go as planned, would make things a lot worse for me.

but yeah, i lead myself.

I would side with Magneto.

His logic is flawless, those that possess natural superiority should be at the top of the pyramid. After all, we do not treat animals as our equal, they serve us.

Magneto's methods are also close to fully acceptable to me also. As much as I know of him - his actions are purely retaliatory.

X1 - In response to the desire to label mutants much like you would label a sex offender he attempts to mutate the people in charge of pushing the bill. Understood that the Senator died, but this could have easily been in direct relation to his exertion of himself reaching the school.

X2 - In response to Stryker's attempt to kill all mutants he attempts to kill all humans with the very device created by him via deception (not to mention the abduction of children)

X3 - The only time it can be brought into question, as he creates an army to kill a fellow mutant. I can understand the motive, a mutant curing themselves is the same as them dying in his eyes.

First Class - The army's treatment of him both as a child, and then the trigger on the beach. The military's reaction similar to ignorant people condemning the entirely of the Muslim population because of a handful of instances by their fellow believers.

I would make my own team.

The Professor is just...too naive. There will always be hatred against mutants, and the mutants deserve to be able to fight back if they are attacked. EVERYONE has the right to self-defense, even the stronger guy in a fight.

And Magneto...No. Just no. I will not put the rest of humanity under me and claim I am their superior just because I was born mutant. I am their equal, not superior.

So I would make a team that would defend mutants in danger (with lethal force if needed), and also fight Magneto and his insane plans.

I wouldn't kick humanity's ass, but neither would I bend over and take it from them.

Well let's see, I grew up in the 90s so I always sat in front of the TV eagerly anticipating the next episodes of X-Men, Spider-Man, X-Men Evolution, and Spider-Man Unlimited (and also Batman, but he's not a Marvel character). Those pretty much shaped my ideals for heroes and the way they should act.

Looking at the question, it is essentially asking, when faced with prejudice, will you use that to be a hero, a villain, a genocidial monster, or try to make yourself seem like one of those people who says they don't care (that simply don't really exist)?

A hero is the best way to go and is the way I choose. Heroes face many difficulties in their times, the strength to stand through these troubles are what make heroes.

Magneto makes his decisions for understandable reasons, but that doesn't mean that there isn't a way for peace. Learn from history to keep from repeating it. Magneto simply learns and is trying to swap the sides of the historical conflict.

Apocalypse, is just drunk on the power. Besides, what good do you really see coming from following a person called "APOCALYPSE!" That should be raising several red flags.

And these loners, they are always wanting a group for them to be a part of. For example, Deadpool, who is NOT a mutant but people just lump him in because of his presence in the X-Family of comics, constantly wants to feel like he belongs somewhere. Unfortunately, he belongs with Death, but he needs to die first to be with her, and Thanos cursed Deadpool with Life to keep him from her.

Besides, I always had a strong personal connection with Beast.

Sorry if that's a bit tl;dr for you all.

Depends what powers I get in some ways. If they're easily hideable anyway (telepathy, for example), I'd probably stick by myself. Although I would reveal it to people I'm close to. They'd find out sooner or later anyway.

If it's not so hideable, Meh. Either Magneto but with attempts to persuade him to equality (or at least leniency) rather than superiority, or Prof. X, but with attempts to reveal that mutations of that scale exist.

I'd go my own way, but if my mutant powers were kind of lame, I'd go with Professor X so I don't die.

Honestly, Magneto's the safest bet somehow unless you're a total wimp. Charles and Apocalypse are way more likely to turn their back on you (or in Charles' case, randomly become evil - plus he's plotting how to kill you by default even as a good guy).

Also Deadpool, I mean - he's in it for the fun. BUUUUUUUUULLLEEEEEEEEEEEEEETTTSSSSSSSSS!!

This. Magneto is the worst. "They hate us and want to oppress us. Let's just do it first!"

Fucking douche. He just proves the haters right when they say that mutants can't be trusted because they are more powerful.

I'd side with Professor X and the X-Men, but I don't think it'd last long. I'd be all about the killings. (of magneto/mutants that attack defenceless humans that is)

Wasn't there a phase in Magneto's ping-ponging morality where he set up an isolationist mutant community in the Savage Land or an asteroid? I like that Mags. Xavier's dream of peaceful integration with rainbows and lollipops for all is comically unrealistic, and regular Magneto and Apocalypse just go too far the other way with the superiority and the genocide and the hey hey hey.
With the right collection of mutants, it would be simple to set up an offworld colony to live the good life on.
