Pick for what exactly? Id pick Yuffie if I wanted something stealing Aeris if I wanted healing or some gardening done and Tifa if I wanted a bar run or someones face smashed in.
In FF7 Cloud is 21 and Yuffie is 16, source: FF wiki. Therefore is 'legal' as the term goes (at least in my country) and can potentially get married. Same is true in Japan as far as I know. (For comparison Tifa is 20 and Aerith is 22.)Subbies said:

I say Tifa. Before I state my reasoning for picking her, I'd like to write why I do not want to pick other two. Aerith is a nice person, sure, but a) she is too distant and focused on fulfilling her destiny, b) she is Zacks lady friend and I don't think it would've been proper for Cloud to actually date her. Yeah yeah, I know, some say that Cloud is Zacks lady friend, but for the sake of argument let's assume that this role belongs to Aerith. As for Yuffie, well, I always regarded her as someone who fills the role of little sister/niece/younger friend.
Now, back to Tifa. The reasons for me picking her is:
- They have a long history of being friends as kids and not being able to properly manage their feelings as kids tend to do.
- Tifa is actually the most caring person towards Cloud out of the whole group. She is the one who always tries to support him with his problems. She is the one who satys with Cloud during his, um, vegetable state. I mean yes, her caring for Cloud led to her hiding facts from him, but it was done in order to not disturb his fragile mind.
- I think Tifas extravert, upbeat personality complements Clouds serious, introvert one.
- Tifa has low, but stable income (bartendering) which works well with Clouds high, but unstable one (delivery service and bounty hunting). Oh c'mon, as if ex-SOLDIER would work as a delivery boy only.
- (subjective) They have the best chemistry out of three avaliable pairings.

I've always been partial toward Aeris, ever since I was seven or eight. She's just so nice, caring, and even when I was little I thought she was beautiful.
Cloud actually bangs Tifa in the game, (at least it's heavily implied that naughty touching goes on) so combine that with her being the hands down hottest makes her the clear victor.
Of course hotness is subjective, but Tifa is clearly the best wife material for Cloud. She even goes into his Mako Coma to fix his brain. She is by his side literally the entire game if you let her.

You see as far as I'm concerned Tifa is a tomboy who took the big sister role for Cloud and they view each other as siblings. Cloud can't see Tifa as anything else and vice versa, so she's immediately not an option because in Cloud's head that would be incest.
Aerith belongs to Zack and Cloud knows this and the only reason he felt close to her was because of Zack's memories and experiences... also she dead so, necrophilia is nasty and horrible
Yuffie... she's too young and annoying for Cloud to see as anything other than a friend.
so for the purposes of the thread I'll vote for Tifa on the count of her being alive, but I honestly think that they should reintroduce Cisnei and give her the role of a possible love interest. Their similar Shinra history and past with Zack and his friends might be a good connection for Cloud

I don't really like the whole harem thing, but is you're asking who I think cloud would be best with, the answer has to be Tifa. Yuffie is too perky for someone like cloud, and they're relationship would be rather shallow. Also, cloud clearly couldn't care less. Aerith is just dating him because he reminds her of Zack, and it's not until later that she expresses an interest in who he really is. Meanwhile, Tifa has known him the longest, and is the only one who seems to care about Cloud unconditionally. In my playthrough they always end up together, which I think is a healthier way to end the story. As opposed to Cloud pining over a dead girl who he's known for about six months, and never really dated.

It has been a long time since I played FF7 (I actually installed it last night to replay it in preparation for the remake) so I am having a hard time remembering much. All I can say for sure is not Yuffie, she is annoying.
But probably Tifa. The preexisting friendship is a big plus for me, and the cute tomboy is more my type than the feminine beauty.
Canon-wise it'd be undoubtedly Tifa, but I always liked Aeris more. Many people see her as that stereotypical cute, innocent "White Mage" char, but I think her threat towards the Don to remove certain anatomical parts of it quite nicely showed that she can play quite a different tune if necessary.

Tifa is self reliant, tough and there when you need her. Pretty nice qualities in a relationship to be honest.
