If a book publisher offered you $500,000 to write a book thats at least 300 pages long and had 1 year to do it, Would you agree to write one? What would it be about?

Well, I started writing a book... I got writer's block about 5 times and now I've kinda given up.
But yes, I definitely would. Writing books is pretty fun.

Can I get a "Hell yeah"?

Of course I would write the book. I like writing, fiction at least, reports are anther matter. But a novel would be just dandy, and $500,000 is hookers and blow money.

I don't see why not, its not like there are any consequences.

I am already in fact trying to write a play/novel. And for the first time planning it out before I hit the drawing board.

Damn straight I'd write one. It would be all about my ZAP and how it would go down. 'Cus it's so damn awesome it would last three hundred pages.

I would tend to write the book first then go the publisher. If they reject it, I wouldn't care as my ego would have been stroked

As long as I had nothing else to deal with, I imagine I could do it. Bring it on!

Yes, I would certainly write it. It'd probably be something about the internet, maybe slightly futuristic.

I would totally do it; I might finally get incentive to start writing my Ranch Dressing series. And no, it's not a cookbook.

I think I could be motivated to do one...

It'd be about The Muffin Kingdom fighting off against immeasurable odds to defeat the Burger King! They will pick up allies along the way, from Benihana to Chili, all to defeat the Fast Food Empire!

Holy crap yes! I'd love to be a paid author! I've been trying for years to finish one of the "books" I'm writing and get it published...but I never seem to finish them. If I was getting paid, I'd probably have some more motivation, lol.

Yes, because I am currently writing some stories.
As for what it would be about, I don't want people stealing my ideas so I won't say for now.

It seems like the only thing you have to lose is time. And we all need something else apart from gaming every now and then anyway :p

YES. And as for the topic, probably some kind of detective/psychological thriller/mind fuck story. Think "Crime and Punishment" meets "Vertigo" with a bit of "Dexter" thrown in.

Heh heh, sounds like you got this offer and now want our help figuring what to write about *wink*

I was thinking of writing a Tom Clancy like novel about something that almost happened on the web some years back. The guy who came up with the idea just got out of jail, so I won't mention details for fear of someone else ending up in ClubFed. Let's just say it involves assassination, and anonymity provided by the web. The type of stuff that belongs in novels, not in life.
