I'd probably join the invaders. For a good reason: our epic Swedish nature. Resistance would only serve to drag the war on for longer, and more of our country would be destroyed. And we kinda need it to get back on our economic feet afterwards.

It depends on how the invaders are going about it.

Resistance is pretty futile if on day one they take over the countries leadership.

Considering i live in a rurally area in australia, and the closest thing to resistance i could do would involve at least 50km of travel since there is literally no reason to invade the area.

if they leave me alone i don't much care who runs the country after all we're being run by some pretty crappy politicians as it is.

wouldn't join the army though, in my mind training kinda goes out the window in a time of immediate war.

Australia would be kinda screwed though, with our crazy annoying gun laws there wouldn't be alot to resist with(hell a bloody potato cannon requires a gun license

I was pleasantly surprised to see Marsden's Tommorow When The War Began made into a movie. Okay, it was teensy, and didnt realy do justice to the book, but still, it got me thinking...

What would you do if your home country was invaded? Say by a significant enemy force- armoured divisions with air support.

Personally, I'd try and link up with my home country's armed forces. Get some training and fight as a straight up soldier... if I could. Otherwise, just be a sneaky fuck and make life difficult for the occupier. Drain oil from engines. Set fire to tents. I've little knowledge of chemistry but I'm sure an Anarchists Cookbook can be arranged somewhere. Thing is: being a full scale insurgent is dangerous when the army starts hunting you back- and not just for you. Family, neighbours. If things were looking bad enough for it, I think I could start building IEDs, before vanishing into the wilderness with some of our family's hunting rifles.
I'm from Australia, and I have to tell you, I think it is a country worth fighting for. So while I cannot say for certain (I've never been invaded before), I'd like to think I would.

I would most definately join the/some/a resistance. But only because I can't do a very good Chinese accent.
Good point they must speak english as their primary language i ain't learning no new language in order to survive. Our country doesn't force immigrants to learn the primary language no reason the invaders should get to make me learn theirs

Depends on who would be invading. I'd probably hire myself out to the invader as a spy or something, in most cases my country isn't worth the time or effort.

Well I don't even like my country that much and I'm also a pacifist mixed in with a good quantity of cowardice.

The action loving young at heart rebel wants to say yes.

The (current) cynical twenty year old who is incredibly selfish and couldn't careless about the human race will have to answer no.

Depends on the nature of the invasion.

If we're talking reeducation camps, mass graves, then yes. I would totally join a resistance.

If we're talking more like, "We're taking over so you stop driving SUVs, being a dick, get on the program in all the social areas your country is lax in," then probably not.

After all, we've invaded countries for "liberation" of the populace. It would be poetic justice for someone to do the same to us.

I don't really think I care enough whether a "resistance" forms or not. Guess I'm just lazy like that.

I would join a resistance, then one of two things will happen.

1.) I'll die fighting and be declared a hero.
or
2.) I'll kill the leaders of the invading army, be a living hero for awhile, have a wife, two kids, and a job. Then get fired from my job after 30 years of faithful service, find out that my wife had an affair with 6 other men, and had 3 children with each of them, then find out my son is a junkie and my daughter is a law student. My daughter gets my son sent to prison for drug possession then leaves after my wife and I divorce and she takes 99% of what I have. I then get a job at wall-mart as a greeter, before finally dying of old age trying to find out where my nostalgia photos are.

I think option 2 is a bit of a stretch, but it's possible.
