Ignorant. I can always learn more things if I want to. It'd be a bit harder the other way round.
I wish I had thought of that. Can I have your opinion and you take mine?
[HEADING=1]I'LL TAKE BOTH.[/HEADING]

OT: Ignorant but in bliss. Because happiness is basically the goal of life, excluding our instincts for survival.

I'd rather be intelligent and unhappy any day.
Ignorance may be bliss but I would love being able to understand the universe which in turn makes me happy.
See. I got around your little game OP. Muahahahahahaha.

Ignorant.

Because it would seem that the difference between the two is:
a) The reality of what you know and what you *think* you know.
b) Your happiness.

If I were ignorant, I'd not even realise it.
And if I were intelligent, perhaps I'd realise how over-rated intelligence really is (it is).

A sufficiently intelligent person should be able to remain intelligent while forcing or synthesizing bliss.

Out of the two options, I come under the second (intelligent but suffering)
While I do despise both myself and parts of my life most of the time, I don't think I'd really want it any other way.
But if it was different, I would be blissfully unaware that my life could be like this so... I can't really say :p
I went for option 2, btw.

Ignorance =/= Blissfulness. Just as Intelligence =/= Suffering.

Consider this. During the dark ages, when much of the world was being ravaged by the Black Plague, no one alive at the time had any idea what the plague truly was, how it worked, or why it was spreading so quickly. Ergo, they were ignorant about it.

Did this "ignorance" help to lessen the pain they felt watching their friends and family dying all around them? Of course not. In fact, it probably made it worse. It's horrible to have to watch a loved one die of something you understand. It's far worse to watch them die of something you don't understand, namely because you feel so scared, confused, and helpless.

So, um...I refuse either of your choices. I'd rather be intelligent/knowledgeable than ignorant. Especially given that ones level of intelligence does not, in any way, affect their level of happiness.
