It's nothing serious but I can't stop thinking about it so I decided to tell you people about it. Alright, here goes.

So my dad is going to America in early January (really early) and that gives me a good opronunity to give him a list of 2 games I want , give him money for 1 and let him buy them in the USA cos they're a lot cheaper there. Now, cos I bought GH5 instead of him cos he didn't have any money, we agreed that I'm not gonna have to pay for a game when he goes to the US, it's all on him. And that was fine with me, cos I just want him to buy Uncharted 2 and Red Faction Guerrilla. But uh-oh. What's this? You want me to put Mirror's Edge on the list? Well why don't you ask him? Oh, okay. My brother then came to me just a few hours ago and asked me to put Mirror's edge on the list instead of Red Faction cos he really liked the Mirror's Edge demo. And that poses a problem for me. I've got multiple options to take, but which one should I? But before I present you with the options, know that I've got money saved up for a game. Okay now that you do, here are the options:

OPTION #1: Kick Red Faction off the list and replace it with ME.
OPTION #2: Use my saved up money to buy ME* along with RF** and Uncharted 2.
OPTION #3: Fuck my brother off and just leave the list as it was in the first place.

Here are the options, now it's your turn to tell me what you think I should do.

*Short for Mirror's Edge.
**Short for Red Faction.

I'd kick off Red Faction (honestly, that games nothing special from what I've played) and replace it with Mirrors Edge.

Option 3, because ME is short and not all that special. I would dare say Yahtzee was actually right, play the demo 10 times and you've played the full game.

Option #4

Make it three games and let your brother pony up the cash for ME. If he wants it on the list, he should take care of getting it; not hijack your list.

You can pick Mirror's Edge up for very little nowadays. Red Faction seems to be a lot longer. Uncharted, I can't speak for. But it looks fun.

Don't get me wrong, ME is possibly my favourite game. But in terms of value for money, the initial list makes more sense.

Now, I defy that critique.
I'll be the first to admit that the storyline of Mirror's Edge was thoroughly vacuous and the forced combat sequences frustrating; but the design and gameplay was something of a revelation.
The varying locales add to the experience, and I genuinely think Yahtzee exaggerated the difficulty of navigating platforms in a first-person perspective.
I perished maybe three or four times in total on my first playthrough, and if I'm not entirely wrong more than half of them was induced by the aforementioned combat.
Trust me when I say that there's nothing like it around, and in my opinion one of the single most inspired commercial releases we've seen in a long time.

I say go for Option #2.
Might I add that I'd hate to see good money spent on something as tiresome and uninventive as Army of Two.

Now THAT's what I call a sticky situation!

In all seriousness, Mirror's edge deserved to be kicked away :p Red faction guerilla is also a steaming pile of slag..

Uncharted 2 rocks though, go for that!

The only game I would recommend would be Uncharted 2, but ME is better then RF.

Oh yeah, everything is new and unique. It was fun too, but it's not like anything new gets introduced after the demo.
It was very original, just not long, and not worth the money, except for the fact that you're stimulating the guys behind it to make a game like it, only better, next time.

I fully expected this topic to involve a situation with a factor that could be described as literally "sticky."
I don't get in a sticky situation unless there's a sticky mess to clean up. Sorry mate.

If you like your brother, you could replace RF with ME. But if you don't like him, just tell him to sod off.

[HEADING=1]DON'T BUY ANY GAMES IN THE USA!!!!![/HEADING]

That was the only sure-fire way to get people's attention. And now I (hopefully) have it, I'll give the reason for my little outburst.

Basically, OP, according to your profile you are from Slovenia. Which means Europe. So you use a PAL system. Now, all games sold in the USA are only compatible with NTSC consoles. So basically, if you buy any games in the USA, then they WON'T WORK on your PAL console or PC. Many people make that mistake and when you find you can't play the games because they aren't compatible on your machine, then it's not as if you can just hop on a plane back to the States and get a refund. Sadly, games are cheaper in the USA. But if you spend your money, or your dad spends his, over there on games then believe you me, you won't be able to play them unless you have an NTSC machine, which is extremely unlikely as they aren't sold in PAL regions such as Europe.

TL; DR: OK, if any of you skipped that then you're a retard. Go back and read the whole thing, idiot xD.

Aren't PS3 games supposed to be region free? That's what I read in The Secret PS3 User Manual that came with an issue of PSM3 a while ago.

Unlike on PS2, you can now buy games from anywhere in the world and play them on your UK PS3 - region encoding in no longer enforced.

I think the guy who was talking bout how they won't work is right, but personally i think if your bro wants the game, he should buy it himself. (personally i didn't really like ME anyway)
