Finally someone who also thinks red faction is a good game, anyway mirrors edge is too short and has no online apart from leaderboards while RF had a rather good online in my opinion.Life_Is_A_Mess said:Put all games in the list. Red Faction is very good (if you have played the two previous games you'll understand the story).
IF your brother wants Mirror's Edge, let him have it. But it´s YOUR saved up money, right?
...............Do the maths.............
Yeah, I swear that PS3 games are region free? From what I know, only Blu Rays and Dvds are limited to regions, I've got Metal Gear Solid 4 from Japan, and it works perfectly, online and all!the-darkness said:Aren't PS3 games supposed to be region free? That was the only sure-fire way to get people's attention. And now I (hopefully) have it, I'll give the reason for my little outburst.
Basically, OP, according to your profile you are from Slovenia. Which means Europe. So you use a PAL system. Now, all games sold in the USA are only compatible with NTSC consoles. So basically, if you buy any games in the USA, then they WON'T WORK on your PAL console or PC. Many people make that mistake and when you find you can't play the games because they aren't compatible on your machine, then it's not as if you can just hop on a plane back to the States and get a refund. Sadly, games are cheaper in the USA. But if you spend your money, or your dad spends his, over there on games then believe you me, you won't be able to play them unless you have an NTSC machine, which is extremely unlikely as they aren't sold in PAL regions such as Europe.
TL; DR: OK, if any of you skipped that then you're a retard. Go back and read the whole thing, idiot xD.
Unlike on PS2, you can now buy games from anywhere in the world and play them on your UK PS3 - region encoding in no longer enforced.
OK, I just did a bit of research and apparently the PS3 doesn't enforce regional lockout on are still locked PS3 games. However, PS2 and earlier games, DVD and Blu-ray are still locked, as is PSN, so whatever games you get from the USA, you won't be able to buy DLC and user-made content for those games on your regional PSN link. Also, you may end up with regional lockout when playing online, i.e. you'll only be able to play with people from your country, but that's apparently standard for all games regardless of regional code. Basically, if you have a PS3 you'll be fine for standard offline gaming, and possibly some online too, but only for actual PS3 games. Anything else will be locked out.the-darkness said:Aren't PS3 games supposed to be region free?
