Poll: I'm sick of hearing about mw2. Too much hype and news over one game will ruin it.

Mw2 looks and sounds like a great game but that?s all what everybody talks about.
I personally, am excited about it but some people seem to be getting off on it sheesh.
This game seems to be way to over hyped and that will probably be this games biggest flaw.
I liked the first modern warfare but i only played the single player and i am only going to probably rent mw2 just for the single plyer.

Does anybody else agree?

Heck I?m looking forward to bioshock2 more than mw2.

OT: The over hype may hurt it a little or it will be the most awsome game in existance... Just do not mention halo 3 or people will come to say that halo 3 was an overated piece of crap... so just keep it quiet and they will leave us alone...

If the game is good, it'll appear better.
If the game is bad, it'll appear worse.

What's worse than the game's hype is the "news" IW have been putting out, particularly concerning the PC version. Yep, I'm one of them.

This is like the 3rd MW2 thread I've entered, 2nd I've commented, I'm more fed up with people bitching over the changes and starting petitions, Infinity Ward aren't Valve, they don't care what you think, want or any action you perform to take a dig at them.

This game will sell more copies than the bible for the pure fact 90% of the people that play and love CoD4, don't visit video game forums online and didn't play it on a PC.

The game has received more media attention than hype, then again, all publicity is good publicity. But I'm trying to steer clear of it still.

I'm buying it cause COD4 was great, I refuse to watch any gameplay trailers of MW2 so I dont get my hopes up

CoD4 is in my opinion still the best game on the market today. MW2 (the console version anyways) takes everything great about CoD4 and turns it up to 11. To say I'm incredibly stoked is an understatement.

I pretty much agree with you on everything except it looking like a great game. It's another War FPS. It's nothing special. I'm so looking forward to BioShock 2 and Assassins Creed 2. Hell, even Left4Dead2 just because they're at least trying something different (Or the original games were). How many FPS' had the atmosphere of BioShock, or the cultural diversity of Assassins Creed?

Modern Warfare 2 will be a carbon copy of every game like it because War FPS' can't be original, and that will be the genres downfall. Well, it would be if the people who bought it had brains and realised that it's horribly unoriginal.

Editor's note: Rade suffers from a chronic disease called "Originality Disease" which doesn't allow her to get taken in by the fake praise games such as Modern Warfare 2 get prematurely and completely unearned.

OT: yes i'm sick of seeing shit about it, i have taking the Yahtzee method and just assume it will be shit till it proves otherwise. It seems like this game is being made just to piss people off.

also yes pumpkin pie is very good and i believe it would make MW2 a hell of a lot better

Look, it's a big game, it gets a lot of hype. You can just ignore the hype if you want, chances are it'll be a good game regardless.

I totally agree I have got like 4 friends who will not shut up about it and I want to stab them with a pitchfork. I did enjoy MW1 but it was not the greatest game ever made it wasn't even close, but the hype is going to destroy the game for most people....plus I'm waiting for Assassin's Creed 2 instead.

At first I was excited about it, but after it being all that's talked about for the last few months or so I have little to no enthusiasm for it left. Oddly enough I feel kind of sick of it, and may not even pick it up at all... Modern Warfare was good but, I'm not THAT bothered.
