So I was thinking. If you were forced to choose between a Year where EVERYTHING goes right for you. As in, No one will EVER be as happy as you in that one year EVER, but you die in the end. or complete and Utter Immortality where everything....goes "Ok" at best. Not that the Immortality choice means a crap shack life, but that it's average, and completely eclipsed by the other choice.

Me, i guess i'm going with the first choice. The One year of Happiness.

EDIT: Clarification. The Definition of Immortality is that you can't off yourself, just to make it clear.

EDIT 2: You're quite welcome to play around with the term "Everything goes right for you". Except you can't rally pick a third Option. Such is the Word of God.

One year, definitly, granted I can choose when this applies. Immortality would truly become a living hell after a relatively short amount of time.

If I could choose to kill myself while Immortal, however...

The one year.

Mostly because immortality isn't that fun. You just outlive all you love, and in the end you'll be wishing for a death that will never come.

At least with the one year I'll be happy. And Duke Nukem Forever might be released, just because I picked the one year option.

That's right, Hubilub saved the most hyped videogame evarz!

Then he died.

The one happy year, because then while I'd have a short time to do everything I want, nothing would go wrong. Immortality I'd probably just live the same way as I do now, just without the "death" part at the end. I don't think I'd be able to handle it.

I would choose the one year of perfect happiness, knowing that my life could never be as bad as it was when I was young after that year was up.

By the way, I like bacon. A lot.

Good topic. I think I'll take the year of happiness.

Immortality seems over-rated; watching those that you love die and the world around you gradually decaying into oblivion. No thanks.

One year is an awful short time, even if it does offer you the best of everything. In my opinion to die at the end of just one year would be a major kick in the malls, everything goes great then bam your dead? Seems a tad unfair. Whereas immortality would become a hassle eventually and you would probably be driven mad simply for living so long. But think of the knowledge you could gain over that time, hell. You'd be able to find a way to turn your so called "meh" life into an amazing one. So immortality for me I suppose, and when i outlive everyone and simply create my own happiness and become great at everything with all the extra time for practice i have I'll make sure to be a nice overlord.

If I can suicide from immortality when I get bored enough, I would probably choose that. I might wind up regret my choice however.

If you chose immortality the game would come out sooner or later, making your premature death futile. Then where would thy god be?
I know, logic makes everything lame. It should be banned from the educational system, and instead let fun stuff like religion and indoctrination take its place.

Definitely the one year of hapiness. I'd rather torture myself than live indefinitely the way things are now.

If a bird flies to the edge of the universe and sharpens its beak on the mountain of Death, and returns to Earth, and spends a thousand years before returning to sharpen its beak once more, the mountain shall become dust in due time. Such is Immortality.

My happiness from a perfect year could not be nearly that infinite. I'd have some bad fugues of perhaps a decillion years where I'd want to die, but that's just a drop in the bucket of good times I could figure out how to have. As Captain Jack Sparrow works out, a little bit of rum every ten years forever is more rum than you could drink in a normal lifetime.

Oh, and I'd like to note that if everyone is given this choice, I'll have plenty of company and won't have to worry about outliving all of my friends.

The immortality as long as I can end it when I feel like it.

I honestly don't see the problem with immortality. Sure, you're living forever but if you're a relativity happy person like I am, then immortality should be pretty cool except for the whole, everyone around you dying.

I don't like that part.

And his name was remembered and had a place in the Hearts of all mankind, outliving even the greatest of all Legends

OT:One Year.
As stated above, immortality becomes a Living Hell after a while.

People are overrated. They can be... replaced. *innocent eyes*

As stated before, 1 year is a very short time, and you can't really accomplish anything grandiose. Immortality, on the other hand... the possibilities are endless.

I have no desire to be immortal, and my happiness always seems to come at the price of the happiness of everyone around me. As such, I would settle for some bacon. And maybe pancakes.

Immortality. Sure, having things go your way would be a nice change, but it all amounts to nothing when you die. It's not like you're going to remember any of it.

I would say no to the immortality or one year of happiness, and pick an option of a regular life, 80-90 years but with great health...
therefor I could have really bad times, or good times, and Id still live the alloted life but life sucks when dealing with disease and such...

Definitely immortality, as long as invulnerability isn't part of the deal. I'd find ways to keep myself busy and entertained... and you know that future we'd all love to see, where people have flying cars, bionic limbs and all sorts of nifty mechanical devices? Yeah, I'll actually live to see that. Heck, I might be on the forefront of creating it for no better reason than having all the time in the world.
