Im a member of here and destructiod and I personally think most ppl here are been snobbish about the guy.
The guy is a both a troll and a comedian who actually has made a few good observations about the games industry. Its just a shame that the subjects of each video can be a bit hit and miss. And since Jim has changed the format of the show ild say his show is much more miss then hit atm.
But this is something thats bound to happen as Jim is pandering to ppl who dont like him as a person and never will no matter what changes he makes to his show. I thought his show was 10 times better while he was just making simple toilet humour comedy with a gaming twist, I and some other ppl enjoyed it for the niche comedy it was before the show got turn to shite as Jim tries to please everybody, which rarly works out.

I checked out his The Videogame Show That I've Done on Youtube, and I gotta say, a person who points out that Demon's Souls is easy because it has infinite lives is funny in my book. He's a lot better when he does a parody on amateur videogame reviews than just being another industry commentator with a serious case of comedian-wannabe.
I've been watching the stuff he's done on here and am just about to watch some of his other stuff. The first time I saw him I thought he was an idiotic, arrogant prat. After a few episodes I still think that but I also think he does it in such a funny way I can't help but watch.
I understand that he has his audience, but it just doesn't really seem to be my style of humor. The newest episode was pretty funny and interesting, so maybe he just needed to get over some early episode jitters.

His 'man in a suit shouting at the camera' routine is really bad. Really bad. No timing, no charisma, no production. It actually brings my estimation of the Escapist down a notch, tbh.
However, these two videos are better, suit his style more, and are actually fairly decent.
Unfortunately, I pretty much disagree vehemently with the majority of his opinions (that I have heard) and so don't support his continuance on this site at all. There are much more talented people out there.

I have tried watching a couple of his videos here, and I just can't hold my attention on them. I watch a Zero Punctuation, I have to pay close attention to catch all the jokes, Extra Credits is thought-provoking and intriguing. This stuff just bores me. That's all I can say.

The only reason why so much GUYs here don't like him is: He's not a girl.
Take Lisa's show as a example:
Everyone who likes her "show" now imagine her "show" with jim as main person. You don't like it, do you ?
That is why i say Lisas "show" is bad, when a show is only succesfull because a pair of boobys, it is rubbish.
The show should be judged by its content, not who delivers it.

I am starting to find him funnier and he does make some good arguments, but I'm still not completely sold on him.
I get that the self gratifying humour is supposed to be ironic (that's not hard to get) just like a lot of Yhatzee's humour. Where Jim falls down is that his delivery just isn't anywhere near as good as Yhatzee's.

I don't understand why his first Jimquisition shows totally screwed themselves by putting the MS Paint genitalia in his vids. They were obnoxious; not in the funny way.
His newest stuff and the Destructoid videos were interesting because they made sense while being funny as well, I hope he keeps his videos like those.

I knew from the moment I saw his name on this site that it wouldn't be a good fit for the Escapist community. He fits in well at Destructoid and I love him there. Here though...he seems so out of place.
Well, nothing I've watched of him was remotely funny or insightful. I didn't get anything from it. Apparently it's improved now. I'll give it one more chance in a few weeks. But no more, because honestly it was painful sitting through the amount I have already.

For example, many women hate him because he is sexist apparently, which is fine, we all are in someway, but he made fun of things when he wrote in his journal that certain 'figurines' must be bought because...well...they're sexy figurines.
If you read the journal entry carefully, you'll see that he was trolling and just being sarcastic, but stupidly enough, some people really pick up on that as being legit.

I initially thought Jimquisition was mediocre, but it's been getting better with each episode. And Jim himself is really growing on me through his involvement in Extra Consideration.

Hell half the time I've never even come into contact with the following he's going on about. Football players, Mario history (I played the games, thats it), comics and so on aren't things I'm big into. Still his presentation is good, and I'm left with some incite into something different.
