Poll: In Mass Effect, which species should join the Citadel Council?

Yes any one of these races would be cool to have on the council, but realistically, it would be the volus. They are heavily involved in the Citadel economy, probably more so than any other race. Other than the asari, salarians, and turians, they are the oldest race to discover the Citadel and they argue that if the 26-year old humans can be on the council, then they deserve a seat as well.

The elcor and the hanar/drell eventually, years later maybe, but it would be an even longer time for the quarian and krogan races. Unless the they are heroes in the in the war against the Reapers, they aren't liked or appreciated enough. Other species dread or even ban the Migrant Fleet from entering their star system because it's a drain on their resources and brings unwanted quarians into the system, looking for work. As for the krogans, most people think of them only as mercenaries, bodyguards, and bouncers, and definitely are not taken seriously as a race.

actually, the volus were the 3rd race to find the Citadel, just after the Asari and Salarians but since they couldn't supply military might anywhere NEAR that of the others,they were denied, that's why when the Turians(the 5th race after Volus) showed up, they folded their government with the Turians,giving them a share to(at the time) the largest military in the Galaxy. the Turians were later given a seat on the council for their work against the Krogan Rebellion but the council are reluctant to give the Volus a seat because they have their government folded with the Turians and it would essentially be an extra vote for the Turian side on occasions, Humans are on the council so ok, Hanar were actually considered to be given a seat in ME but the council said no because the Hanar hadn't made any major contributions to the Citadel except for, y'know SHARING A HOMEWORLD WITH THE PROTHEANS!

Damn I got my ME lore wrong. And lol I sometimes forget that the hanar homeworld has all the Prothean ruins. While that is important, yes, the hanar haven't led any major scientific studies or excavations of their Prothean ruins (only to my knowledge, they might have and it just hasn't been mentioned so far) and sometimes hamper other races' attempts to explore the ruins because of their "Enkindlers" religion. So it could be argued that the hanar haven't made a big contribution to or impact on galactic society.

yeah, some Hanar see the prothean ruins as religious structures, though Kahje is 90% water so I'd guess the only ones on land to study them are atheist Hanar and some Drell(though some consider them 2nd class)

The Geth would be the best choice. They've formed the ultimate system of consensus democracy, and accepting them would be the first step for the Council to acknowledge A.I. sapience. Also, they commandeer one of the most powerful military forces in the galaxy.

I voted Krogan, but I would also want Geth and Quarian.

Geth, Quarian and Hanar council, just an epic argument over the Quarian homeworld and the Hanar would be muttering something about Enkindlers, best council evar!

I would say Volus. They seem to have the largest citadel presence of all the non-council races.
