Inception was brilliant, especially the end where Cobb essentially rejects objective reality for his kids/happiness by failing to watch whether his totem fell or remained standing.

Though for Christopher Nolan, "Momento" is still his best film, it took me 3 viewings before I figured out the chronology of that one.

It was really good but i was left a little disappointed.

Like a lot of people i think the confusingness was overhyped. Sure it's probably confusing as hell to a large chunk of the audience who're only watching for the thrills and explosions, but i was expecting to be wrapping my head around it for weeks which is something i enjoy doing.

I'm a bit of a lucid dreamer too so maybe that detracted from the 'exploration' aspect if their was one. I'm very well acquainted with the dream world already :p

Don't let me put anyone off though, it's definitely worth the watch. Just please please please don't let the hype ruin this one for you. If someone says it's good, go in expecting average!

It was really good, but it didn't really feel new to me. That might be because I already played Psychonauts?

So, now that it's been out nearly a week, what did you think of Inception?

The "great", "confusing" and "meh" responses have been transcribed into "B" words because I'm feeling alliterative today.
Its been out for two weeks?

I wasn't confused either but thats not a huge surprise come to think of it.
It's said to be too smart for mainstream audiences, although mainstream audiences are quite stupid (no offense to anyone here)

Mind you, I didn't understand what all the fuss was about. I didn't find it very confusing at all. Still, great movie going experience.
Basically what Hubilub said. If you were reasonably intelligent and paid attention, the film wasn't too confusing. However, for general audiences, I could easily see how they'd be dumbfounded at the premise. Still, was an excellent film.
Ya, almost every one was saying that it was "Too Smart" for movie-goers. Ya it was interesting, but never all that complicated. I get the feeling that the media thinks we are all retarded fuck heads that are incapable of thinking.

I enjoyed it. I suppose the whole "mindfuck" hype is yet another sign that audiences really are as stupid as most movie directors have been assuming we are, because I found the whole movie incredibly linear just by paying attention and not simply waiting for something to blow up.

Having said that...it was really dry. It has a whole cast of character types to be used, even simultaneously, and none of them other than DiCaprio deviate from "cold professional." The line, "You mustn't be afraid to dream larger, darling," (used in the trailer) is about as close to levity as this movie gets. Not that it makes Inception *less* powerful, but it could have helped.

I loved that.

On one level, you have the inevitable question of, "But are they really in the real world, or is this also just a dream?". But on another level, you accept that Cobb doesn't really care either way - he'll take this particular reality whether it's a dream or not.
