Well the little trolls, the "OMG Halo r teh sukz" wouldn't care about Real ID's or anything. However, a troll (see: worthless human) like the one described in the story SHOULD be held accountable for his actions and the only way I could see that happening is with a real ID type system in place.
If you sent a malicious or threatening letter to some one in real life, you could easily be arrested. It saddens me that the internet's vale of anonymity has caused these extreme trolls to thrive and go unpunished.
