You know what you get with supposed pure races? You get inbreeding. Inbreeding results in big health problems. For the human race to survive as a healthy species, you need to mix races a bit.

Inbreeding exposes flaws that are otherwise hidden by dominant genes. Inbreeding forces double-recessive genes and exposes inherit flaws to come to the surface, and then become purged from the gene pool by natural selection.

Two examples of intense inbreeding can be found in cheetahs and bison. The bison were hunted to near extinction, and had no choice but to intensely inbreed. It purged deleterious traits via natural selection and what you have now is a large number of very healthy animals with robust genetics.

You also need to remember that outbreeding can be just as harmful as inbreeding... It's called Outbreeding Depression, and it only gets worse through future generations as co-adapted gene complexes are broken apart, and because humans have risen above natural selection (mostly) there are no new co-adapted gene complexes to take the place of those that are being broken by the simple process of meiosis.

Personally I think we're doing it wrong and should be partaking in Parthenogenesis.

People should be allowed to like whomever they like of whatever race or colour. When i see it however it just looks a bit awkward, i don't know why, maybe just the way i was raised or something. I jsut seems weird or something, non the less i wouldnt tell someone to break up with person X because they were the opasite race.

I myself am a pure white, 14 year old guy. I have a white girlfriend and im hping that that works out nicely, and so far it has. And as the GreyFox666 said , i am not really atracted to women of the other race.

People are people - race/ethnicity are completely irrelevant. Those are just a matter of genetics, and for the most part are skin deep. Now culture, that's where the real differences crop up, as how you are raised has a lot more to do with the person you become than the bloody color of your skin does.

There are a lot of reasons two people might not be compatible (vastly different and conflicting worldviews springs to mind), but skin color is a simple physical characteristic that shouldn't mean a damn thing to anyone other than the would be couple - if the idea of 'mixed race coupling' bothers you, you're a racist, end of story.

I'd say someone who espouses "racial purity" is in the wrong. What's their justification? It seems like either misdirected dogma (i.e., no justification, or "because God told me so") or an evolutionary easter egg (that we can shrug off).

For race, yes. But with adults being with kids, no. I know the thread is mostly about race, but who really cares about what color someone is? There are another things that "whoever" shouldn't apply for, because it is just disturbing and wrong. The person that lives a few house down from me is black, he has lived there for as long as I can remember, and it wasn't until maybe 5 years ago that it really occurred to me that he was black. I always just saw him as another person.

Personally, I think anyone should be able to be with whomever they wish, regardless of gender, race, religion, etc.

Like many people have said in this thread, many mixed-race children are very cute, and stay attractive into adulthood.

The only reason I wouldn't marry a person from another race is that I want my kiddies to have blond or red hair, and blue or green eyes. But that's simply from a genetic point-of-view.
I'm not saying I wouldn't date someone from another race... If I could find someone to date...

Not too long ago, I recently started dating a girl who happens to be black. Come to find out, many of my friends have a bit of a problem with that. It seems that they feel people should stay with people of their own race and that there should be no interracial relationships or bi-racial children. Now, I was very surprised since these were kids of 16-18 years old of several different races, but most of them were white. I myself am half white and half Mexican so I'm already a violation in their opinions. I found this very surprising that so many of my friends who I've known for years feel this way. I had no idea that so many people, even young people, feel that way. I figured it was mostly some older people.

So, I want to find out, how many people here also feel this way or some other way about interracial relationships and racial purity. Also, if you feel comfortable about it, please state your age, gender and race. If not, that's cool too.

THIS SHOULD NOT TURN INTO A RACE WAR. I cannot stress that enough.

Edit: I've told them that that makes them sound an awful lot like racists and I think they've been questioning themselves some. But yeah, I really don't think I need friends like that so I might remedy that soon.
