I always use inverted, whenever I go over my friend's houses they get pissed cause i switch it, they all use non-inverted. I just can't play that way. On my psp all my fps's are double inverted (left/right and up/down). I have no clue where this came from, but I can remember playing games inverted when i was like 5 or 6, it was just natural.

I always play with inverted, partly because I've played a lot of flight sims, and partly because it's the natural, 'proper' way of aiming.

Think about it, if you're holding a rifle, you're mainly gripping it by the stock. If you want to aim up, then you move the stock down, which tilts the barrel up, and vice versa.

Unless you hold a gun by the barrel, then inverted is the 'proper', natural way of aiming.

The up/down movement in FPS games is relative to part of the gun you hold, not to the end of the gun the bullets come out of.

I always thought of it like this: If you play inverted, you are moving your head while you are looking around. The thumbstick controlls the back of the guys head. Someone mentioned that it is also like the way you hold the rifle, which makes sense too if you consider that the right stick is like your right arm.

It honestly depends on what I'm doing in a game. Non-inverted in FPS, but inverted if I'm flying in some sort of vehicle.

Oh for the love of all that is righteous NON-FUCKING-INVERTED. I swear I have no idea how people play with inverted controls, it feels like driving a plane. I can understand why people would want to, but when I try, I get all disoriented and dizzy. I know it's unnatural but seriously, it confuses the living hell out of me.

I prefer inverted. Maybe I played flight sims when I was a kid and it stuck? I dunno why. Just feels more natural to me.
Precisely my predicament. I tried to go non-inverted and it just doesn't feel right.

Non-inverted: When I want to look up, I'll move the control stick up. Makes sense, doesn't it?

If I'm forced to play an FPS on a console that isn't the Wii, I play inverted. I just can't play non-inverted, and GoldenEye 007 is probably to blame.

The logic behind inverted is the following:
Tilt the stick forward to lean forward, and backwards to lean backwards.

So it's not about up and down.

I prefer inverted. If a game defaults non-inverted I always find a way to change it if the option is there (nowadays it usually is).
