Poll: Invurnerablity, or Immortality?

Immortality is overrated. You get to see everyone you care about die. You get to see humanity die. You get to see all animals die. You get to see all plants die. You will be stuck on a planet with no resources left. A cold dead planet that has lost all of its beauty. You want to see how it ends? It ends in a very boring way and it will stay boring for a few 100 million years before the sun finally consumes all the planets. You'll also not be able to grasp the flow of time and thus you're doomed to go crazy. Immortality isn't a reward. It's a curse.
Invulnerability, now that is better. I would always go with that.

Really? You guys picked invulnerability? There are two simple reasons why that makes no sense:
1. Death is much more inevitable then injury.
2. If you're immortal, you have time to figure out how to make yourself invulnerable. And solve any other problems that might come with immortality. Friends all dead? No problem! Figure out how to make them immortal too, then invent a time machine to back and prevent their deaths! What's that you say? That'll take a really long time? Who gives a shit? You're FUCKING IMMORTAL.

Now, with immortality would it be you can say, get shot in the face in die?
Invunerabliity would be nice, as long as your body didn't get hurt. IF you did swim in a volcaino, wouldn't your flesh melt and grow back , or would it be like whatever, no damage?

I've always been one of those people who think immortality would be awesome regardless of the cons. Sure I'd have to watch my loved ones die, but damn it, them dying wouldn't be my fault I'd miss them but hey. As for the worst case scenario of immortality such as being trapped in the vacumm of space or something, if you're immortal, who cares! You live forever eventually something will happen to change that state.

As has been said, true immortality is no fun. As least if you get thrown in a "fate worse than death" you'll eventually die with the indestructibility. You'll be stuck there until the sun explodes with immortality, and noone wants that.

Aside from the bad grammar and misinformation from the post.... Invulnerability for me!
Sure, you could be the greatest scientist or philosipher of all time, but you would still have to see it all come to ruin one way or the other.
Invulnerability grants that I live a fulfilled and complete life without it having it taken away from me.
But I always thought that:
A) Immortaility= Cannot die of old age, but susceptible to disease/wounds.
B) Invulnerability= Can die of old age, but completely immune to disease/wounds.

Invincibility; because I would think immortallity would get boring after 100 years. While invincible i'd go and capture every person on the most wanted list of the world. Just walk right into their bases being a bullet sponge and laughing the whole time and just round em all up and stick em in jail. Maybe beat a few douches up at the bar hitting on girls that obviously don't want to be talkin to them and go fight a whale (cause its something i've always wanted to do

I agree with your first statement. It seems to me that you would need a level of invulnerability in order to be immortal. An example of why I think this: Lets say your immortal and you live to see the sun go supernova. Now because of this event your reduced to nothing but ash; are you still alive as ash? How does ash think or feel? In other words invulnerability and immortality must be a package deal simply because you cannot live (in biological terms at least) without a body.YeOldeMoose said:

Yeah, I have a strange fondness for immortality, I like the thought of seeing everything...
Quick question: Am I invincible too, or can I die when a random meteor hits me while I float around in space? When I think about it, if I die by a meteor, I will most likely be dead when the sun explodes and destroys the solar system... Anyway, invincible in the sense that I can't die from being squashed like a itsy bitsy insect? And what about regeneration? If I get squashed, can my body slowly (Or quickly) regenerate itself back into a functional state?
...I may think a bit too deeply into this...

Perhaps you simply regenerate a few moments later, presumably with magic. At any rate, I can't imagine a worse hell then existing in space and suffering from never ending asphyxiation.TheVioletBandit said:
