I hate them, my sister got a mp3 player that has more features then the basic ipod. For example it was cheaper, has a FM radio, plays video, and hold more song all for $80 USD
Sounds like a Creative =)

I have owned 3 different Creative models over the course of 5 years - each have been superior(in my opinion) to the ipod that was released at the same time. I don't hate the ipod, but I dislike what it says about society - that looks are the most important factor involving anything.

iTunes is a bloated piece of shit. Even if you close down the program to free up resources, it still has about 2-3 extra programs running in the background.

The iPods are alright. Decent mp3 players, but you can find MUCH better ones out there at a similar price.

iPods are perfect for the kids out there who want to be hip and trendy or the average sheep who buys whatever the TV tells them to.

Ugh. The only good iPod to come out is the touch/iPhone, even then in my opinion there are better, cheaper alternatives. I care about sound quality, and I should since I am paying so much for something that's sole purpose is to make sounds. I went with much cheaper alternatives when I first started with MP3 players, looking back at them the sound quality was atrocious. Then I got a creative, great sound quality, kept crashing so I had to take it back.

Now though, I have had the same MP3 player for about a year and a half and I absolutely love it. It is one of the first generation Sony video Walkmans, great design, and unrivalled sound in any other MP3 player I have ever used. Oh and did I mention I can just drag and drop my music onto my MP3 player? Yeah I hate iTunes and will not seriously consider buying an iPod until this is an option. Until then though I am more than happy to stay with my walkman (and even after then I'm unlikely to convert)!

I like my iPod. It looks pretty, and I can listen to pretty music on it. iTunes, however, isn't actually somthing is use often(mostly due to me liking to have a hard copy of my music) but I've never had any problems other than the time it took me to figure out what "syncronise" meant.

I like my ipod touch, but hate itunes. i use medaimonkey instead of itunes. bit more complicated, but worth it. used to use a a cheaper creative mp3 player, really liked it until it broke a few years and much abuse later, main reason i got one was to one-up my friend, and because they just look so cool, but it was worth the 400 dollars. only ended up paying a fraction of that because of christmas. just really hate itunes.

The iPods are only expensive because they can be. I picked up a couple of fake iPods in the Philippines. Paid like $15 or something close to that for them, they where identical to the iPods, down to the label on the back and the firmware.

I still do not see why nobody will release an MP3 player with one or two Micro SDHC slots on it. Those would support a card up to 32GB in size. I mean I understand that if they did you do not have to use their software to move the files on and off the player. Easy to pirate and share files.

Hate Apple, but I am forced to admit that my 6th Gen iPod Classic works like a charm. I personally think that save for the storage difference (which is a massive drawback) Sandisk's Sansa (I had an e280R before I got my iPod) is better. However, nothing wrong with iPods in my eyes and iTunes works like a charm for me, though I do miss WMP's "stop" button. Ah well, I never much used it anyways.

So while I pretty much hate Apple, I like iPods. Call me a hypocrite or whatever as you will.

My old iPod Gen 3 or 4 had some issues with my computers that seemed to just break them. I had to send it in several times. I could use it with other computers fine for some reason, so I had to load any new music from anywhere but mine. And somehow this continued even after getting a new computer... So my old iPod was more of a pain that sat unused for long periods of time. But my new iPod nano I really like so far. It doesn't have any of those problems, and it's small, and uses flash memory. iTunes does suck though.

I'm kind of neutral, because it's really not that hard to get around the annoying functions of iTunes, if you know what you're doing.

I've never been a fan of iPods (or Apple, for that matter), but I do have one and begrudgingly admit to liking it.
I wish I could use something other than iTunes, but I guess I've gotten used to it.

I hate them for the sole reason some people really think that an ipod is not a brand of mp3 player and is its own thing

I really don't care.
MP3 players are just another fad like portable CD players, walkmans, boomboxes etc.
They will die out soon enough.

I can stand it, but I would like things to be a little easier. Example, I have put a south park season onto my computer, renamed everything and labeled the artist. I pop it into iTunes and have to do it ALL OVER AGAIN, because it doesn't want to take the name that I have already wrote.
