Poll: Iron Maiden anyone?

They're only the most popular metal band of all time... Seriously how could you possibly wonder whether or not anyone else likes Iron Maiden?! Either way I love them, I've been listening to them since I was about 4 years old when my dad would play their albums on cassettes. I saw them live last summer, they put on a great show.

I can respect your taste and dislike for metal and rock.

But that doesn't mean you can call it bland noise that sounds all the same.

It's just an opinion, no need to get defensive. Just like one mans trash is another mans treasure, one mans bland noise is another mans sweet melody. If you like rock and metal that's fine, I have many friends that do and I always remain as patient as I can when they start booming it. We have different backgrounds and different tastes; to me, that music is bland noise because I grew up listening to different kinds of music. I'm sorry if my opinion is a bit harsh, but I didn't go into detail about my dislike for the sake of people who like rock and metal.

Hell yes I love Iron Maiden, one of the biggest reasons I like metal music in the first place.

One of the most overrated metal bands ever.

Their alright, but their nothing special.

Out of curiosity, what metal bands would you say are better or at least more "highly rated" than they?

You really have to add more choices. I love Iron Maiden, but calling them the best is an insult towards music. Iron Maiden is great, but it doesn't hold a candle to all the candidates for the best band.

Iron Maiden's last album, The Final Frontier, was okay. But it wasn't even in the same ballpark as The Trooper or similar songs. Their days of glory are over, and I doubt they can make such music anymore.

I saw a great rockumentary on them over Christmas. They had a camera crew follow them everywhere as they toured five continents. Flight 666 I think it was called.

Was a thoroughly awesome program. What really made it was that they had their own Boeing 757 in Iron Maiden livery......and Bruce Dickinson was the main pilot!

I'm not a major fan of theirs, but it was a fascinating insight. Well worth watching.
